My husband went to the emergency room this morning because he had cut his finger badly and needed stitches the doctor eventually came to see him after about 1hr as he can hear and see her gossiping at the front desk about her personal life. She came and took pictures with her cellphone of his wound and said she would be right back. But he waited for her for another hour and half and still no doctor so the nurse just bandages his finger up and he walked out! No stitches to stop the bleeding! What a joke that hospital has for doctors! I would not recommend anyone to go there! A person would bleed out before a doctor came!!

They are very discriminate towards Aboriginals. So yes, I recommend to go to another hospital if you want to be treated like any other race.

For Aboriginals, make sure you don't have a reserve on your medical card, they'll treat you different. I'd suggest to get two medical cards one with a rural area. I got treated right away, when my medical card said Brandon on it. Once I switched to a reserve they didn't service me right away.

I guess it depends on when you go there, I think. I have had great service at our local hospital and I have had some very bad service. It depends on who is working the shifts as well; if they figure they do not like you or are above you as a human so to speak, then I think they can give you pretty sh1**y and discriminative service. Mostly, I think that I have been glad they have been there even though they could not help me there and have had to send me elsewhere. At the times they have cared; I have found them to be quite caring. The times they have not cared have been equally as uncaring and callous.

Too Legit To Quit

I had an incredible experience here yday. The level of care I received was unparalleled by hospitals in larger centres near and far. Everyone involved was kind, genuine, professional and efficient. Thank you so much, I'm honestly blown away.

Dr. Butterworth and Dr. Burnside 'denied' the infant boy who was sitting in this car, in the back passenger seat a CT scan.

They didn't keep him in hospital over night to observe his ​condition.

When he was brought in 'again' the next day with loss of balance, fatigue and no appetite he was again denied.

Reasons being,
The infant did not vomit that day.
The infant did not fall over that day.
Long term side effects from the CT scan were too risky.

After fighting to voice our concern they called a specalist who said, "The CT scan should of been done within 24 hours of the accident."

Even after hearing that, Dr. Butterworth still recommended that since we've waited this long and the infant has not vomited, that they should now hold him to obverse to see if his conditions worsen.

P.s. they gave the mother, who was driving a CT scan.

Terrible hospital!!! Lack of care is scary! Our infant daughter has pneumonia! We took her to Swan 4 times and each time they sent us home saying it was viral, with no thorough testing. We took her to Kamsack and she was admitted right away with bad pneumonia!! Shame on you Swan hospital! Step it up and start caring!! We are worth more then just a paycheck! We deserve better health care!!

I would prefer to take my chances driving anywhere else.

Seriously if I was having a heart attack drive me right past to somewhere competent.

Very clean hospital. The Dr i had was fast to send me to Dauphin by ambulance for at CT scan on my appendix and it was taken out right away!
