I’m a cottage owner, lots of other propane companies drove by my cottage to serve other people but MacEwen said the road was not sanded and couldn’t drive down it. I almost ran out of propane after three weeks of trying to get them there so I called Casey’s propane, and they were there the very next day (road was not a problem at all)to change out my tanks very professional Company. I would NOT recommend MacEwen to my worst enemy. I gave them a zero for service. Now they want be paid for their tank pick up and all the other companies don’t charge a tank pick up. Worst propane company ever !!! Thanks for reading. Ryan.

Update 5 days later still no follow up phone with manager as requested!
Is this good customer service - told by staff that yet another manager is on his way out

Do yourself a favour , go elsewhere
Ran out on Christmas Day , got oil delivered by another company
Great call back on Christmas Day from answering service however still have not heard back from manager to discuss running out once last season and once so far this winter season
Asked for a call back before delivering again and that didn’t happen
If I could have given 0 star I would have .
Update- ran out again!
Yes I know - I’m the dumb one still using them
And still haven’t got a call back from Dec 25!
On the positive Answering service is great - I think the poor girl calling back is used to making up excuses for them !

Brand new customer here — and I’m so heartened and impressed by the calibre of care and service shown by Mark Norris and Jason Fergusson that this company is worth acknowledging this soon.
I’m one of those people who has been operating an ancient oil furnace and finally had to make the transition to propane so we can have a reliable system this winter. This means I did some research on suppliers, and I ended up connecting with MacEwen. Here’s why I’m convinced I chose the best out there:
1. They are the only company that will remove oil from your tank (ours was 3/4 full!) and apply a credit to your first propane fill. Who knew?! The oil company I was with (as a second generation customer) also supplies propane, but didn’t make any effort to offer a comparable incentive, or any goodwill gesture, for me to stay with them when I explained the situation.
2. They have a sliding scale of tank rental fees depending on usage — and the company I switched from quoted me a substantially higher annual rental fee than what MacEwen charges for my anticipated usage!
3. Mark Norris was prompt with connecting and coming for a site visit. Conversation was comfortable, friendly, and authentic, and Mark was well-informed, thoughtful, and considerate with a genuine interest in providing the best solutions with no pressure.
4. I communicated an unfortunate incident that occurred during delivery of the tanks that took part of my afternoon to rectify, and Jason was on the phone with me first thing in the morning to thank me for my help resolving the situation and to provide a meaningful gesture that acknowledged the value of my time.
MacEwen is a real diamond in a world of cubic zirconias. I want to thank them for that.

I am on auto delivery and in the last few years I have run out of oil twice and had to call them. When this happened in March of this year, I questioned the billing, and it took a call and three emails before someone got back to me. After a lengthy discussion, they needed to investigate further and would get back to me. No reply, so I sent another email, only canceling my pad agreement until the matter was resolved, never stating that i wouldn't pay them. Lo and behold, I got a response. Conversation ended with agreement to send me billing information. I was dealing in good faith, trying to resolve this. Same day I got the billing info they put through the pad payment I had cancelled. Reliability was my initial concern, dealing in good faith is now a fail on their part as well.

Just bought a cottage and needed to set up propane delivery. The process with MacEwen has been Great! Randy called me to get us set up for a new account and made it so easy. Love the idea of the new monitor Randy recommended that I can add for only $4 a month that allows me to check my fuel on my phone. Great peace of mind for just a few dollars. Randy also recommended a person to install a propane fireplace for us. I look forward to dealing with MacEwen for our propane needs. Thanks Randy!

Contacted MacEwen about switching to them as a propane supplier after being seriously disappointed by our now previous supplier. Not our choice to do this during the heating season but our previous supplier was not reliable at all and we could not be guaranteed a steady supply of propane. Randy at MacEwen was very courteous and professional, came to our home to review what was required and had us switched to MacEwen within 1 week. This was a stressful time as we were running low on propane (thanks to our previous supplier) and did not want to be without heat during the winter. There was little paperwork and no cost to us to switch to MacEwen and we are looking forward to building a new relationship with this propane supplier.

I have never seen such an unorganized company before with the way my family has been treated and the response from the staff I wouldn't recommend this service for anyone they delivered our tanks in August we finally got partially hooked up the end of October the final hookup was just done 2 weeks ago still haven't gotten propane for that tank we have a broken regulator that is leaking we are almost out of propane in the first set of tanks and the dont know when they will get someone out to fix it they were told of an issue 4 weeks ago and have now spent 1000.00 dollars on propane and will have to pay another 500 to fill it again just to have it leak out. They are definitely making a profit on us because not one of the staff seem to care about it being safe

Sadly, I wish I could put zero stars on this company. We moved into a temporary location for the winter until our house is done. This residence had MacEwen's as a propane provider which we assumed when we moved in so that we didn't change too much on the owners of the place. We moved into the residence on September 15th. Filled out the application and we set up online payment which we made biweekly payments to. We woke up this morning to our house being 12 degrees. A little chilly I must add. I call MacEwens right away and they had a very nice gentleman answer the phone and said he would put the call through and someone would call me back. Come mid morning I finally got an email from our sales rep, I called into the office and the lady answered the phone and then told me she couldn't get out to me until "possibly" next week. Um, hello, I am out of heat. There was nothing they could do for me. Seeing as it's winter time and in the minus every night, I felt this was unacceptable. This is our only source of heat. So with some communication issues about their process of dealing with business, we have to go without heat. So we took it upon ourselves that we needed to find another provider asap. So we did, called them back to say we found another provider that can get us heat today. To please pick their tanks up. Then they have the nerve to say it would be a $175 charge to pick up the tanks. Um excuse me, what You can't provide us with heat, but you need to charge us to pick up tanks you own not us My husband owns a heating business, we know how customer service should go. This is one company we will NEVER recommend! Worse customer service with attitude.
