Love this store and the staff. We just completed a FULL ensuite makeover. The staff helped us find the pieces, order what was needed, and respect our timeline. Retail pricing, I felt, was fair. Lots of products are on display in the store showroom.

Once again a big shout out to Aaron. 10 years or so after my renos I developed a leaky tap. Stopped in and talked with Aaron and got some wonderful advice. Now that is true after sales service.

I have purchased two vanities from here and had great service and quality product everytime. Aaron was super helpful and able to locate the style of vanity I wanted with the specific measurements I needed. He was even able to honour a quoted price after there was an unexpected price increase with the vanity. I trust their knowledge and suggestions and have been happy with the end result each time.

I have worked in customer service for years now, from retail, restaurants, and the financial industry. I feel like I am extremely understanding and lenient when it comes to customer service, and I try to see both perspectives of a situation before leaving a negative review. However after my experience at Barton Bath & Floor, I feel obligated to leave one.

Let me start by saying that the show room is gorgeous. They have beautiful pieces and you can tell everything is very high quality. Now picture this: the scene from Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts is sent to buy herself some nice clothes, and the sales associates don’t give her the time of day or take her seriously because they automatically assume she can’t afford to be there. That is exactly how myself and the other person I was shopping with were made to feel during our entire interaction with the sales associate (who I will not name).

I do not doubt that the gentleman was very knowledgeable about the products, had the experience to do the job, and maintained himself in a professional manner. However his sales techniques and customer service were extremely poor. He approached us and asked if we needed assistance (good start). I said yes and gave a few details as to what I was looking for explaining what I had in mind and what in the showroom had peaked my interest. Every single time I asked “how much is this” or “what is the price range of this item” (as I am aware that with customizing the prices can vary), my question was always responded with “well it’s very expensive”. I didn’t ask if it was expensive or not, I asked how much. If no price could be given, this would be the time a half decent sales associate might say “well what is your price range/budget?” And proceed to offer suggestions that meet my criteria. No questions were ever asked. Every question I had was met with a blank stare before replying back with the same “well it’s very expensive” response, in a very monotone voice. I think I asked the price of about 6 items and never once got a dollar amount reply. I should mention that the associate himself stated that the pieces I was asking about didn’t really offer customizations so it shouldn’t have been too difficult to give a price range, or perhaps say, let me look in to that for you.

I eventually had a formal quote written up so I could finally know the price of things, and the one item I was most interested in actually fit my budget and I loved it! But sadly I will try and find something similar elsewhere as the experience was just so terrible I never want to go back.

Perhaps the gentleman just had a long day and didn’t feel like putting in the effort for the customer, perhaps he looked me up and down and thought I couldn’t afford anything in the store, maybe he just thought I was far too young to know what I was talking about and didn’t take me seriously, or maybe he would have taken me seriously had I been a man, or with a man. Regardless, I was very disappointed with how myself and my shopping partner were made to feel. I maintained a pleasant attitude with the sales associate during our entire interaction as that is my nature. I thanked him for the quote and walked out the door promising to never go back.

I am a local contractor who almost exclusively uses Barton Discount for most of my bathroom products. Their prices are competitive, the products that need to be ordered arrive quickly and the customer service department is better than most other companies offering the same services.

They have been go to bathroom and kitchen fixture company for the past 7 years.

Outside of some minor shipping delays, and issues with the suppliers shipping the wrong product, they are aces in my book.

I recommend all my customers when they have a need for something Barton Discount supplies, go see Aaron and he will take care of it.

Rude, incapable, snotty, unapologetically incompetent, non computerized ordering system leading to chaos (don't worry, it will be all your fault and besides you "definitely knew" everything would be late). Do yourself a big favour and save yourself a lot of money and stress - steer clear of this poorly managed insult to customer service.

Response to the (boiler plate) response:

Your apologies and promises of investigation come a day late and a dollar short. I complained mightily throughout the process of poor customer service but my efforts were always met with sneers and disdain. I won't mention names of the staff I interacted with but if they had name tags I'm sure they would read, Imperious, Goofy, Angry and Aggressively Rude. But to be fair, the staff at the back were helpful and pleasant.

Another reviewer mentioned that they met with a very helpful and enthusiastic staff member on their first visit but that that person had vanished by the time they came back to order. I know exactly what they are referring to as I also met that person and decided to work with Barton Bath entirely because of his helpful and enthusiastic approach to sales. That was the end of any semblance of customer service.

I did mention to another staff person who seemed to be a manager that your chaotic, indifferent approach to satisfying customer needs may work for some of your customers but that it did not work for me. I assure you I will not be back and I will never recommend you to anyone I know.

And for the record, who wouldn't swear at these idiots after weeks of frustration? Pleasant and Cordial? In your fantasies maybe. It is not polite to lie in these reviews, BTW
