Absolutely the best care was received from the ER doctors and nurses! They were extremely patient, kind, and thorough with everything they did for our child. She was very afraid because she didn't know what to expect, and they took their time to explain everything to her and acknowledge and validate her fears. The moral among the staff was very good and made for a less stressful environment for us. We're grateful for the excellent care at Carlton Place Hospital ER ❤️🙏

Had a pretty bad experience here. I was standing near some random closed door, and a nurse snapped at me, “Move! You’re in the way!” No “excuse me” or anything just rude for no reason. The doctors here are great, but some of the nurses act like they hate being here. Like, you picked this career, so why act like a total bi*** to people all the time?

Not 1 time in my experience here had someone even went through the door in question.

We’ve been there twice in the past week , once for my 16 month old son for strep throat , and the second for his allergic reaction to the penicillin.

Both times being very scary for myself and my partner - but our son was such a champ .

We waited no longer than 2 hours in total and the whole team were so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and didn’t try to rush me out , I actually felt human .

Thank you cp emergency department ! You are amazing

When I went during the day, the ladies at the check in were so friendly and fast! The hospital is small so compared to Ottawa- they are just faster I found. Very attentive nurses and they actually cared about how I was doing because they weren’t rushed by crowds of people. I am going back here again instead of Ottawa, the drive is worth it for the care.

I went to Emergency this morning for severe stomach pain; the care I received was phenomenal. Dr. Dube and staff are very attentive. Thank you too for pushing through and providing answers as to why I was suffering. Thank you 😊

Seeing a lot of entitled people leaving 1 star reviews who don’t understand the dire situation our publicly funded health care system is in.

Took my partner here after she was experiencing severe complications with a medication. The nurse we saw was phenomenal, extremely caring, warm, and informative. We were seen super quickly, Dr. was direct and informative. Y’all are doing a great job despite the Ontario governments efforts to sabotage your ability to provide adequate care.

A big thank you to the Drs and Nurses at this hospital, your efforts don’t go unnoticed <3

My son was so well taken care of at the hospital with his pneumonia! Dr. T woods checked on him regularly and ordered a chest x ray with results back very quickly. Our x ray technician was great w kids and even showed my son the pictures of the results. Our nurse, Lauren was excellent and thoughtful as were all the nurses we came across. Thank you to the good people working there overnight and this morning!

The staff here is rude, especially a large chunk of the nurses. My dad has terminal cancer and there is no communication or anything about next steps with my mom making it incredibly hard on her. Nobody wants to work with her or tell her whats happening or give her any guidence on his care. My dad asked for help with eating and wanted her instead of a nurse because he's anxious and they refused stating "oh he doesn't need it." They don't talk to him like a person. They snap if you don't know anything but won't keep you informed. Take your loved ones anywhere else. I used to be okay with the small town vibe hospital but now I've seen enough.

Edit: 3 years since my last review and nothing has changed in this place. The new emerge is lipstick on the same old pig. Arrived at emerge at 2pm on a Monday, was triaged and fully understood the urgency scale used. Was triaged again 4 hours later. Left after 10 hours of barely anyone in the waiting room being called. There were so many kids, some under distress, and there was nothing from staff. More people walked out feeling ignored than people were actually seen by a doctor today. One mother cried in the waiting room because her son had a scary event 6 hours prior at home and they hadn't seen him past one triage. She was there when I left. I understand doctors and shortages in this province right now and the like but CPMH is getting out of hand. I'm not upset about me not getting treatment, I'm grown and I'd rather die at home instead of within your walls like my father did, but the treatment of some of the kids and elderly in this place I couldn't ignore. Our community needs a decently run emerge. All those donor plaques and thank you pictures are cute but they mean nothing if our community's vulnerable members are left behind. Hey, maybe if those poor parents had Cavanaugh amounts of money, they would have gotten further today getting help for their kids.
