I called in today to try to make an appointment to see Doctor.
I am 66 years old and felt pain in my chest and had a dry cough.
The receptionist asked me all kinds of questions, and then told me the Doctor would not refer me to have an X-Ray which I would like to have one done.
That's it. I am done with this receptionist and this Doctor. Will never walk back in here again or refer to my friends.
Not one, but this is the second time I have been refused by the receptionist to book for an appointment to see Doctor.

I was trying to been seen in after hours clinic due to finishing antibiotics and feeling worse again. Reception was quite rude and told me I was fine it was viral and I needed to rest and drink fluids. Reception also argued with me that it was impossible to have infection because I had no fever. Office refused to see me. Went to hospital and got diagnosed with kidney infection. Not impressed.

There have been numerous issues with this clinic, such as when I fell and requested to have my injuries assessed, it never happened. My spinal surgeon was adamant that I see my family doctor right away, yet I had to wait several months for an appointment and was never assessed. This has been a recurring theme, every time I sustained a serious or painful injury, it simply dismissed which defeats the purpose of having a family doctor. I am a very competitive athlete, martial arts instructor with a very high tolerance to pain. For me to say that I'm in a lot of pain and going to the ER almost every month, speaks volumes about the severity of my health issues, yet they were getting dismissed as being "minor" here.

I have had to go elsewhere to have the majority of my injuries assessed quickly and have the necessary procedures done urgently. Paramedics have taken me to the ER over 15 times in a single year, and I was admitted to the hospital several times due to severe pain and could not walk for several months, and yet I've been told by this clinic that it was "minor" despite the fact I needed spinal surgery immediately. The day I was supposed to see my family doctor, I was in severe pain, extremely sick and could barely walk more than two feet, yet I was told by this clinic to drive myself there which would have been impossible for me to do. The paramedics were already on their way to take me to the ER, and yet Dr. Fonseka kept insisting that I go to the clinic! My family, surgeons, and ER doctors were shocked that I was being treated this way and not being assessed in a timely manner. I was deeply disturbed by her attitude and lack of empathy and comprehension of my severe medical issues.

I come from a medical family with extensive experience in pain management, as well as two family members who have had spinal surgery, and have immense knowledge about the seriousness of spinal injuries. In my case, I have multiple bulging discs and a FRACTURE in my lower back which was CLEARLY diagnosed by my spinal surgeon who said that I needed surgery, this clinic ignored the surgeon's diagnosis and claimed that my back issues were "minor". I've been following the instructions by my surgeons, doctors at the ER, yet they were not taken seriously here. Not only is it disrespectful towards my surgeons and specialists, it's undermines my ability to get the proper treatments and medications that I need. She actually caused more harm and pain, and seemed very cold and dismissive about it.

There has been a very distinctive pattern shown by Dr. Fonseka: very narcissistic, no compassion or empathy shown towards patients in severe pain, refused to continue prescriptions provided by other specialist and surgeons, claimed to have written numerous prescriptions yet never provided it (pharmacy never received them!) refused to refer patients to other clinics, ALWAYS tells patients that it's "Chronic" and to do Physio which is NOT covered by ODSP/OHIP.

As a result of not being taken seriously or having any of my injuries assessed, I had no choice but to switch to another doctor. Soon after I left this clinic, I was immediately diagnosed and had xrays/ultrasounds done. There was clear evidence that there was a severe damage to my shoulders which was repeatedly ignored by Dr. Fonseka, and as a result, I've had to be referred to a surgeon right away who specializes in cases like mine. That speaks volumes in terms of the lack of care, clinical comprehension and understanding by Dr. Fonseka. She is very young, inexperienced, and not qualified to handle complex cases which is out of her scope.

The CPSO's website clearly states that all doctors must:
- Communicate clearly, openly, honestly and with sensitivity
- Treat you with dignity, courtesy and respect, and without discrimination
And that all patients have the right to:
- Question anything their doctor says or does that seems unprofessional or inappropriate.

I had precancerous cell growth in my cervix. After surgery my gyncologist strongly suggested I get the gardasil vaccine to help prevemt future issues. Went to dr.fonseka who administered 2 shots.

1 to 1.5 year later I find out gardasil needs 3 shots. Never EVER did this office let me know this or schedule me for a 3rd shot. Ive even been in since for annual physical and it was never mentioned.

I have been trying to get next steps from doctor fonseka or whoever is replacing her while shes on mat leave for two weeks now. They (reception) keep saying theyll call me back and they never do. Ive been calling 1 to 2 times per week for updates and ive been told by reception me calling "constantly" wont get me answers faster.

Total lack of compassion, sympathy or accountability. My doctor did not look out for me, so now im trying to do it myself and im made to feel like im bothering them.

My family and I recently moved to Cambridge from Montreal, where we had an excellent family doctor. We were expecting an uphill battle finding a good team of medical professionals here in Cambridge. But, we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Fonseka and her partner Dr. Gheriani to take care of our family's medical needs in our new home city! They are both knowledgeable and caring doctors, and the entire staff at Galt Health are very efficient and professional.
