Exceptional Care from Dr. Shauna Mercer

I’m incredibly grateful to have been referred to Dr. Shauna Mercer by a friend several years ago. She has been my primary care physician ever since, and I truly feel lucky to be under her care.

Dr. Mercer is compassionate, attentive, and consistently supportive. She’s a wonderful listener, and I always feel comfortable discussing any aspect of my health with her—whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional. She meets me where I’m at, and supports me through both the highs and lows of my health journey with patience and empathy.

During the pandemic, her phone call appointments were such a comfort—it meant so much to know that care was still available, even during such a challenging and isolating time.

I also want to recognize the incredible nursing staff who support her practice. Whether I’ve spoken to them on the phone or interacted with them in person, they’ve always been kind, reassuring, and incredibly helpful. Their care and attention never go unnoticed, and they truly add to the sense of safety and support I feel every time I reach out.

Having a healthcare team that listens, cares, and makes you feel seen and heard is something I don’t take for granted. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Mercer and her team to anyone looking for thoughtful, comprehensive, and compassionate medical care.

The clinic was nice and clean. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the time I made my appointment with Dr. Moss, to the day I had my physical exam, my overall experience was excellent. Luisa, Dr. Moss’ assistant, was very helpful and explained the procedures clearly. All my inquiries were adequately and patiently answered by Luisa. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As to Dr. Michelle Moss, you couldn’t find a kinder doctor. She explained everything to me in such a way that I could understand clearly the requirements of the IRCC. Dr. Moss also went out of her way to call us up immediately after our appointment with her to inform us of the favourable result of my spouse’s X-ray. She really is a gem. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Terrible clinic, terrible service. People's lives are in your hands and you treat us like dirt. I would give negative ten stars if I could.
My wife needs surgery and is in a lot of pain. She waited months for the referral to be processed and finally saw the doctor however, the clinic did not triage her high even though she is at risk of losing her ovary the longer she waits. From November they promised us a date of surgery in April but told us we could schedule that date yet. We called throughout January and February leaving voicemails. No one ever answers or calls back. Finally we received a call back in late February and told us the earliest surgery would be mid May but before we could confirm that date, it was already taken. And now we were told earliest is June 20. She is in a lot of pain and has been calling non stop trying to get any attention to move the date up. Finally she gets through to a receptionist and is told the doctor will call back. No call back. Then another receptionist calls and tell her and mistakes her for another patient. She says she can move the date but then says oops, this is for another lady who is have her surgery moved due to travel.
Are you kidding?! Somebody is traveling and can request a different date but we can't even get a call back? She's literally screaming in pain.

Dr. Moss is so unbelievably kind and has a wonderful calming, warm demeanor. She made my commonly painful procedure virtually painless and took so much care to ease my nerves. I just finished my follow up appointment and am sad that I won't have to see her again. If you need an IUD, I cannot recommend her enough.

In order to receive an IUD from Dr. Moss, you are required to attend a group zoom call in which she thoroughly explains all your options. I will admit, I went in to the appointment feeling like I was being patronized and resented the extra step. However, the zoom meeting was so informative and I left feeling incredibly grateful that she took the time in her no doubt busy schedule to educate me. The zoom call started with a basic anatomy lesson, which again felt a little patronizing at first but I realized afterwards that it was an incredibly compassionate thing to do, especially as a lot of her patients may not have received the same education I was privileged enough to have received in school.

Amazing staff, can't remember the name of the Asian lady but she is amazing and very helpful. No stress, no hassle, you go and get the service you require. Dr.Moss is also amazing personality, going above and beyond to help you as much as she can. Overall, good experience, amazing staff, nice environment.

If you care about your health even a little, AVOID Dr. Ballantine. I’ve been dismissed, ignored, and straight-up neglected more times than I can count. I brought up multiple symptoms over the years — including swollen lymph nodes, Raynaud’s, excessive sweating, joint pain, and more — and was repeatedly told it was “nothing.”

Spoiler: it was not nothing.

She didn’t even bother to document most of the symptoms I brought up — so there was no record, no follow-up, and no accountability.

I was officially diagnosed with an autoimmune condition by an actual specialist — and it turns out many of my symptoms were classic signs. Dr. Ballantine never investigated a single one of them. Not once. If I hadn't taken control of my own care and gone around her, I’d still be untreated and suffering.

This office clearly doesn’t prioritize thorough care or patient follow-up. If you're looking for someone to actually listen and take you seriously, LOOK ELSEWHERE. I wouldn’t trust her with a stubbed toe, let alone something serious.

I visited Dr. Alisha Poonja for an ingrown toenail, and she did a great job with the procedure—no complaints there. She was professional and efficient, and the toenail removal itself went smoothly.

However, I had mentioned twice—on both my first and second visit—that I had knee surgery scheduled in four weeks. She acknowledged it, but never warned me that this procedure could affect my surgery. Unfortunately, my surgeon later informed me that they considered it an open wound, which forced me to delay my surgery by another four weeks( after waiting for so long to do the surgery )

This unexpected delay had a huge impact on my plans. We had to cancel flights, resulting in cancellation fees. My work schedule is now completely disrupted, affecting my clients and income, and my sister which was coming to take care of me also had to change her flight at a cost.

I’m not a doctor—I had no idea this minor procedure could interfere with my surgery. But I would have expected Dr. Alisha to know and inform me before proceeding. This lack of communication caused a lot of unnecessary stress and financial loss. I hope this is something she considers in the future for other patients in similar situations.

Waited a few months to see Dr. Karim Manji for heel spur and plantar faciitis, which I have had for years. Finally saw the doctor, declined to get my heel operated on, and referred me to a physiotherapist. What a waste of my time. He spoke with me for 45 seconds and gave me a sheet, and that's it! Said a few words, no interpersonal skills at all. Not impressed even the slightest. The only reason why I put 1 star is because the person at the reception was nice!
