My best friend and I took a jaunt over to the Struisvogel ranch on Rednersville road (3555 County Road 3, Carrying Place).

Her brother is into working with leather as a pastime, so we stopped in to see the place and purchase a piece of ostrich leather for him to work with.

Really interesting place! The Ostrich are insane creatures really, their feet are so.....prehistoric. And those crazy feet can outrun a lion! I learned that lions avoid eating them because they are super fast and they can kill a lion with one kick. Wild. And their alien heads (I mean that most affectionately) stretching out to eat?!? Fascinating to say the least. The babies are so adorable (see video) I could barely peel my eyes away from them.

See pictures of all the items you can purchase - I forgot to take pictures of all the meat they have there as well in the freezers.

I bought a feather necklace, in pink of course, because I thought they were really chic, reasonably priced, and would look cute with a dress and some gold earrings!

You can take a walk around the ranch and feed the ostrich, which is fun for everybody.

A stupid amount of fun. The ostriches are lively and interactive, the little plaques are informative. Feeding the birds and seeing them up close was great. Kids would love this too. The short self guided tour ($10) was more than enough. Too bad the barbecue was closed when we were here, looked forward to trying some of the meat, it was hyped up so much! Great place to visit!

Such a fun experience! Kids enjoyed feeding the ostriches.
Had the steak sampler, really enjoyed it - highly recommend you give it a try too!

Met the owner, while he was preparing our sampler plate, was nice to chat with him and got a bit of history about the farm. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just an incredible experience! My best friends family bought a cottage just down the street and we decided to pass by! The animals are very well kept! We were given lots of fun facts about them and got to feed them! Very inexpensive! We will definitely be regulars and look forward to coming back!

i highly recommend the grill, especially the steak. stopped in for something different to do. if you've never seen ostrich up close, this is the place to go. you can see eggs, babies and adults. we liked the fun facts posted along the trail.

This place is very cool. Lots and lots of ostriches. it’s clean and spacious and affordable. We got to feed the ostriches and learn all about them. The signs were very informative and interesting to read. Just a great place.
