Dr Matter is a great doctor but the management staff is not great, and has ultimately made me find alternative care. Received inaccurate information regarding a referral for a different doctor for prenatal care, they tried to tell me I would have to go to Selkirk for ultrasounds when we have a tech in the town I live in, and during my first prenatal appointment they took a urine sample that the doctor told me they didn’t even use. They also dropped the ball on getting my referral sent for alternative care (the doctor I was hoping to see only takes patients by referral) and I had to call to follow up multiple times. It still took them so long that I ended up having to get an appointment with a different provider as my family doctor. When I went and saw the new doctor, she was excellent. She addressed my concerns and was also shocked by the fact that my previous doctor had ordered blood and urine tests but missed testing me for a large number of routine things with those referrals. When I went in for that lab work, the lab techs were also confused as the requisitions were also filled out wrong. My new doctor couldn’t understand why they never went over my family medical history and I hadn’t been even booked for an ultrasound at 12 weeks so we had no idea where things were at. Even before pregnancy, Ekosi is ALWAYS running behind to the point where I’ve waited an hour and a half before getting into a scheduled appointment. You cannot call their office if you need to change anything because they never answer the phone either, everything has to be done online when things like changes simply cannot be done this way. I won’t recommend them to anyone. I highly suggest the Arborg clinic as a much better alternative.

I drive 45 mins just to see Dr. Turner. She is absolutely amazing, resourceful, all around my favorite Doctor - very thorough with pain management. I learn something new every Visit!!

Ekosi Health Centre out of Gimli, MB is amazing!! Ekosi Health Centre out of Winnipeg, MB is not so great!

I have nothing but good things to say about my Doctor and her amazing receptionists here! Dr. Turner is a God send! I do not know if she is taking any patients currently, but I do know she is a very busy woman! She goes in depth with my issues and treats me in such a way where no other doctor could. I am currently on Opiate Replacement, and could not have asked for a more "in depth" doctor. I am grateful for her and credit alot of my sobriety to her. She is a doctor who actually cares and makes time! Thank you Dr. Turner! I cannot say enough how great you and your Gimli team are! So accommodating!

There is also an Ekosi Health Centre in Winnipeg. I usually FaceTime my doctor while I'm there, and deal with nurses and reception. It wouldn't be a bad process if the receptionist and nurses that work there were so rude! Nurse Vanessa (and I can't remember the receptionist name) are VERY VERY rude! I try to get an appointment in Gimli when I can. They speak to their patients with such disrespect. I told the receptionist there that I felt that she wasn't treating me with respect and called her rude, and she kicked me out for doing so! No follow up appointment or anything! Just kicked out!

So just to rehash, Ekosi Health Centre in Gimli, MB is VERY VERY professional and caregiving! But Ekosi Health Centre in Winnipeg, MB is VERY VERY disrespectful and rude.

Dr. Michele Matter and Dr. Shelley Turner and any of the other doctors that we have seen at this clinic are absolutely wonderful. Take their time and are consistently thorough each and every time. Dr. Michele Matter is an absolute lifesaver in her care of my husband. I feel completely confident with them at this clinic. I recommend them highly.

Dr Matter is wonderful. She always makes me feel heard and does an excellent job providing care. The receptionist is so nice and makes me feel comfortable whenever I am in for an appointment.

Super disappointed with the reception working at this establishment!!! The first appt I had a month ago, the morning of she called to confirm, when I showed up there not even 2 hrs later she didn’t know what appt I was talking about. Today when I went in to reschedule an appt for my daughter I have for next week I find out she cancelled her appt. Her reasoning Because the receptionist called to book an appt for myself (which I don’t need So don’t even know what it’s for?) and since I didn’t call back for my appt there’s no appt for my daughter now. Then talked down to me and told me there was never an appt booked How when I made it with you right in this exact spot a month ago when I was here after you gave me the exact same run around last time…. Went there twice will not be back.

The doctor I wanted to meet with ended up calling in attempt to reschedule the appt. During our conversation she then accuses me of hurting my child. Because when I left I was upset. I told the receptionist this is a horrible way to run a business. And walked out. Outside the door was a metal dolly, that with my foot I pushed out of the way unfortunately creating a loud sound. This is why I was accused of ramming my child’s stroller into a glass door!!! Absolutely appalled at how I’ve been treated here today!!!!

This is a new doctor office in town. Dr. Madder listened so intense and understand everything you say.. she goes out of her way to help you. I'm happy to call her my doctor.
