My experience with ASLS was a bit mixed ..the job was fantastic, the person I was providing aide for was wonderful. Beyond fulfilling.
However, I definitely wouldn't do it again through ASLS. A truly bad company. The entire payment system was beyond odd, paying on the tenth of the month, once a month and thus being a ridiculous inconvenience. Especially because they weren't strangers to paying late. Payday was anywhere between the 6th and the 15th and it was a huge pain.
I was surprised and appalled, as I had worked for ASLS a couple years prior and it was completely fine. I believe they switched management, which was evidently a large mistake.
It's honestly such a bummer that they can't manage, because I believe it was once a brilliant asset to the community. ..now however a company that was formed to make life easier for many people, has made it more inconvenient and that's honestly a tragedy.

All and all a really poor place to work under & consequently wouldn't ever recommend it. just terrible.

They are a housing service yet treat the homeless like they are scum of the earth. Very unfriendly, unwelcoming staff. Not accommodating and very prudish.

You get referred here from YMCA and I'm not sure why, YMCA has very supportive staff and should do this job.
