Come to this clinic and be a patient of Dr D’Addario if you have no interest in ever seeing a doctor. They are impossible to get a hold of, rude on the phone and cancel appointments last minute. I drive 1.5 hours to get here since moving and they called me 10 minutes before my appointment to cancel it and didn’t care about the giant inconvenience they caused me. Offered to reschedule in a month… all because “the doctor wasn’t in”. Such a joke. Dr D’Addario is a poor doctor even when you do get to see her, doesn’t care or advocate for your health and can only talk about one concern at a time. I’d rather have no doctor than this doctor.

I've been coming here since my relocation to Ontario in late 2014. Yes, sometimes you can wait on hold for a bit but I've always received the assistance I was looking for. Once I got totally tied up at work and forgot about an appointment. When I called apologizing profusely they were very understanding and rescheduled me for the following day. A couple of times I have woken up super sick and they were able to accommodate me that day, saving me from having to sit in a walk-in clinic for hours. At my previous Dr's office it was not uncommon to wait 2 HOURS after your scheduled appointment time for the doctor to get to you. I have never waited more than 10 minutes past my appointment time here.
Dr. Parmar never makes me feel as though she is rushing me out the door and supports my efforts to be actively involved in my ongoing care. She encourages the personal research I bring to her when I approach her with questions. She explains her opinions and reasoning in a way that is easy to understand but not condescending. She makes me feel like a participant in my own care, not a patient.
All told I have been very pleased with the quality of service and care provided by the Alliston Family Health team, specifically by Dr. Parmar.

The office has very typical wait times. Usual office procedures. Doctors split time between office hours and hospital duties. Dr Myatt is very knowledgeable and has great bedside manner. Unfortunately waiting for appointments is pretty standard across Ontario. But the doctors here are good.

I waited more than 35 years to go to a doctor. At nearly 70 years old, I knew there would be issues. I was blessed to find Dr. Parmar and members of her team. They are kind, thorough, very knowledgeable and treat me with respect. There are issues, but they are giving me the tools and support I need to deal with those issues. The rest is up to me! Thank you to all of the Alliston Family Health Team.

Dr. Parmar is a great doctor. A really, really great doctor. She listens to you and takes you seriously, and she never belittles or makes you feel dumb - which is a rare quality in a doctor, I’m sorry to say. She is thorough, patient, kind and great with kids. If you are looking for a great doctor, Dr Parmar IS a great doctor.
However, the system that Alliston Family Health Team uses to run their office is completely flawed; getting a doctor’s appointment to actually see that great doctor is like pulling teeth with a wrench. The office has ridiculous hours - often opening at 10 AM, closing for an hour (sometimes longer) around lunch, closing Tuesdays - in addition to days the doctor herself is not in - not taking voicemails, not returning voicemails, and closing early, and the doctor is out of office quite frequently.
The office also doesn’t use email apparently, and we have had 3 separate occasions with separate specialists that have not received our referrals, meaning we are chasing our doctor’s office up repeatedly just to get referrals (again, even with serious issues such as with a neurologist).
Multiple times I have made appointments with the receptionist & showed up to the appointment only to find she had me scheduled in for another time and date. For same-day needs (sick children, acute issues), it’s impossible to get a same-day appointment, even though this is supposed to be their model of care; we are also advised by reception NOT to go to the walk-in clinic, even if we can’t get a same-day appointment, so we are waiting 3-5 days to see a doctor for an issue that we needed dealt with immediately.
More than a few times I have had to take our family to the hospital for an issue that could have been resolved by a quick appointment with the doctor.
If you can get yourself an appointment with Dr Parmar, you will be very happy she is your doctor. But have fun jumping through the insane hoops it takes to get there.

I needed to see my doc. I called in each day as they no longer take appointments. It's first come first served in the morning. I tried until finally I was able to get a time slot. I work in Toronto & my husband too. WE had to get an afterwork appointment as we can't make a same day appointment an just leave work. Someone has to cover. SInce we can't book in advance, we can't book time off. Very inconvenient. It was pouring rain, heavy enough that visability was poor but we rushed from TOronto to get there and arrived 4 minutes late. We checked in and sat in the waiting room. 10 minutes later the receptionist came and told us we would not be seen as we arrived 4 minutes late!!! WHAT being punished for bad weather, an hour & 10 minute drive to get there and we are told no visit? Then to top that off, we get a letter in the mail a couple months later stating we missed our appointment and this was unacceptable....but we were there!? TERRIBLE SERVICE. NEVER GOING BACK. AWFUL SYSTEM FOR WORKING PEOPLE. and treat you terribly!
Here’s a new update. I broke my finger. I called to get an appointment to get an X-ray form to confirm my suspicion. They said they would always help for urgent care. Receptionist asked is this a new injury. Of course. I just broke it I said. She said the next available appointment was in 2 1/2 week’s time. I said it will be healed then. She said do you want it or not. I said I have a break so I have to go elsewhere. Went to walmart walk in. Got X-ray and treated with great care there. Now I got a letter from Alliston family health telling me I am not allowed to seek help of another doctor and they threatened to drop me over a broken finger? Don’t go there. You will be sorry. They would rather you heal broken bones improperly than get medical care.

I've only had positive experiences with the AFHT. Dr Parmar is understanding and empathic, she really makes me feel heard. Her nurse is lovely too. I feel safe and comfortable in their care.
Consider This
Dr.parmar has no compassion and won't even listen to you. I strongly recommend another physician. She threatened to call 911 for bo reason and is on a power trip !!! Dont believe me just whiteness yourself. Acting like her home troubles should be taken out on her patients
I strongly recommend another physician!!!!
