I personally had a good experience. It was time to replace my faithful companion. I came in on a budget and was shown their selections at the prices I was looking for. I wasn't pressured into looking at anything more expensive either. I enjoyed a good chat with the lady there too.

This is the second time my husband and I have travelled from our home in the USA to purchase glasses here. My mother lives in the Ottawa Valley. We always come here to be met with the best service and the best selection. You see, in the USA, due to regulations, they cannot make thin optical lenses. Therefore, we are thrilled to come here to get the best glasses we possibly can! When we went to the store, the Owners went above and beyond accommodating us. They opened the store, during non store hours (over Canadian Thanksgiving holiday) so we could buy two pairs of glasses (as it was our only window of opportunity). I’m dumbfounded by the negative reviews. But what I do know is this: if you give respect, you get respect. Thank you again Arnprior Optical Team! You’re both optical Legends! Can’t wait to see you again on our next visit to the Ottawa Valley.

This is most definitely the best place to find one of a kind glasses. Not only are their frames the latest and most stylish designs from all over the world, their lenses are the thinnest and most light weight I have ever experienced. I usually cannot get the frames I want because the my prescription makes the lenses too thick and will miss shape the frame, not here! I travel all the way from Hawaii to get my frames and lenses here, the owner and her husband have always been so accommodating, even opening the store outside of normal business hours. I have never been more excited about getting my glasses, thank you so much Arnprior Optical for making prescription eyeglasses a fashion statement!

Horrible and bizarre experience that seems disconnected from the reality of running a high-end specialty eyewear boutique in a small town where most people tend to shop at different price points. Because of this, it would make sense that those coming through the door are curious and trying to weigh options rather than make decisions on the spot to find frames that bring their best selves out at a price point they're comfortable with. I don't think many people would go in with the intention of purchasing specialty glasses only to try them on then buy online. That in and of itself is a sign of totally misunderstanding how people do business in a small town - if you treat people with empathy, good energy, assume best intention, and meet them where they're at, there's an unwritten rule in small towns that people will push their budget to support local. I can imagine the worry (as an owner) of people coming in to try on your high end glasses only for them to huy online as more of an issue in a place like Mtl or Toronto. Just doesn't make sense in a place like Arnprior where the like 10 people tops who are eyewear frame nerds are scheming to scope out selection in person then buy online. Even so, it'd be quite difficult to buy some of the frames she sells because of how niche distribution works. I digress.. the owner treats anyone who isn't a customer entirely on her terms (e.g. buying/repairing/no browsing or info for comparison) as beneath her, even though that's how most people purchase expensive items these days when they're just trying to get by. Bizarre obsession with status. The ironic part is that she would probably rather have her store in Ottawa but can't afford to, then settles for this location because it makes sense for her.. meanwhile criticizes the thrifty eyewear choices people make for their own personal reasons when they're not in a position to just walk in and decide on the spot to buy $6/700+ frames. I'm happy to throw down on expensive frames, but the money doesn't matter when you're disrespected.

Arnprior Optical has customers from far and wide. It is my daughter and son in law's shop of choice, and they come all the way from Hawaii. The variety, uniqueness of frames, and choice of lenses (in particular, very thin high index lenses) make this a destination of choice. Both my husband and I purchase our eye glasses here and love the hands-on approach and advice of the owners. Modern unique frames from Italy, Germany and other places are here for those who are looking for top notch quality and style. Thank you so much for being in Arnprior!

Today I had an extremely disappointing experience at Arnprior Optical. When my wife, son, and I arrived for an eye exam, the staff member who greeted us was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. She seemed annoyed that we weren’t planning to buy frames during our visit, which made us feel uncomfortable. She even told us that if we weren't buying anything today to not come back.

A simple eye exam should not come with such a negative attitude. I left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return. And it sounds like she didn't want us to return anyway.

I was in today to have my glasses adjusted. When I mentioned in a friendly way to the old lady that I went to Costco to have them adjusted she went down one side and up the other of me because I went there when I bought the glasses from her. She was very rude unfriendly UNPROFESSIONAL. I think it's time for you to retire. Very poor customer service.

Stumbled upon Arnprior Optical yesterday and was initially delighted to find an exceptional selection of interesting and edgy frames. After some browsing with a friend and narrowing it down to two frames, things turned bizarre. The owner refused to offer information about the frames I was interested in, was very rude to us and expressed that she thought I would gather details about the frames and then order them online. I have never ordered my glasses that way because my prescription is complicated. Regardless, she made assumptions about me. When I asked how I had offended her she shut down the exchange by telling me that I was no longer able to purchase from her. WAIT WHAT? So not able to give the purchase a think and return later. Not able to hesitate in purchasing expensive frames. The exchange was beyond bizarre. My friend and I were stunned and felt shocked. It’s clear from others reviews that ours was not a unique experience. Could not recommend this business less. Give your hard earned dollars to a business owner who respects her customers instead. Instead of taking the time to respond defensively, I invite the owner to take the ample review feedback here and make some serious changes to her business model.
