Staff on the phone were very unhelpful. I saw another review mentioning the receptionist needs to work on her people skills - they are correct.

She refused to tell the wait time. Other hospitals happily shared the information with me since I am travelling from far.

I did not take seriously information that the parking fee is $4, and that "loonies and twonies are accepted". In 2025 I assumed that there should be a credit card reader as well. So I ended up in a single lane exit with 6 cars behind me who I had to ask to back, because I do not carry cash, not a pile of loonies and twonies anyway. That was very embarrassing. Fortunately, there was a hospital employee who saved me by swiping his proximity card for me. Five stars for how I was treated in the hospital.

I visited the hospital today for the first time . I had to have a colonoscopy. I want to share how incredibly great my experience was and how much I want to thank the great staff there. In the center where I had this done, I want to especially thank Kim and Shannon. These are two wonderful nurses who took care of me. They were so kind and caring. Thank you both. Dr.Erin Kelly did my procedure and Dr.Montgomery as well. They were both just so kind and warm. Thank you all so very much. Allan

I agree with Brandon!! I was brought in by ambulance early Sun. morning. Right away, the male triage RN was very rude. He said I didn't mind going there to "bother" them. He said "You guys from Que. never pay your bills!". He also threatened that if I got admitted, I would lose my drivers license. He brought me out to the registration area and said he had REAL patients who were sick and there was no room for me, that I would have to wait in the waiting room for a long time. The registration lady asked for my credit card. I wanted to know how much was going to be charged to my credit card. She said she had no idea, so I didn't want to give her my credit card, carte blanche. I'm 73 years old and I worked at the Ottawa Hospital for 13 years. I finished the last 11 years in The General Emergency Dept. I helped many, many people over the years, and NEVER was rude or out of order like this triage RN. It really hurt me that my "family" was turning me away. The staff I had the privilege to work with at the General were professionals and non-judgemental. My daughter met me at the hospital and when she and her husband heard all of this, they said "Come on Mom. We'll take you to Shawville Hospital.". I had vertigo and was really not looking forward to the drive as any movement was horrid. We made it to the Shawville hospital with me trying to vomit every 15 seconds. It was the worst feeling I had in my life and I never felt sicker. All of this added further to the stress that I was already feeling. Shawville Hospital took me right in and took very good care of me. So - Quebec patient or not - I wouldn't go to Arnprior Hospital if I were dying. Would you?
