The Brantford Commons Medical Clinic is a well-managed practice. The receptionists are diligent and communicate clearly while demonstrating compassion for patients' needs. They take the time to get to know customers on a personal level, helping them feel as comfortable as possible during their medical visits. They book appointments in a timely manner always trying their best give customers an appointment time that both meets their needs and their busy schedule.

Dr. Kahlon is a highly attentive and thorough medical practitioner who ensures he listens to and addresses all medical concerns. His calm demeanor and kind bedside manner contribute to a more relaxed and less anxious experience for patients. His thorough explanations provide reassurance that patients are being heard and receiving knowledgeable medical care. He also demonstrates honesty when gathering additional information, which fosters trust in his practice and with his patients.

The pharmacy staff are efficient, professional, and kind also creating a relaxing atmosphere for those waiting for medical care and for prescriptions.

I would highly recommend Brantford Medical Commons Clinic and Pharmacy to anyone looking for a new medical practice.

I'd like to start my review by acknowledging that Dr. Kahlon is an excellent and attentive family physician, and I have no complaints about my care from him. As someone with dwarfism (22 years old but 46 inches tall), I appreciate how he treats me with respect and listens to my concerns without letting my appearance define my experience. However, I feel it's important to address some persistent issues I've encountered with the reception staff at the clinic.

I've been a patient of Dr. Kahlon's for over two years, and during that time, I've observed a consistent pattern of behaviour from several receptionists that could be improved.

First, during the check-in process for appointments, I understand that receptionists are often busy. However, there have been many occasions where I find myself having to speak up or rely on an average-height person to draw their attention. This has sometimes resulted in delays, as I’ve noticed instances where patients who arrived after me were assisted first.

Moreover, the waiting times can be substantial, often ranging from 30 to 45 minutes, which can be frustrating. When I inquire about the estimated wait time, I frequently receive reassurances that “You’re next, not to worry,” which doesn’t always seem to reflect the reality.

Additionally, I’ve found that reaching the clinic by phone can be quite challenging. It’s common to be placed on hold for extended periods, and my recent attempt to schedule an appointment involved several calls over a span of several hours, only to connect with someone much later in the day.

I want to emphasize again that Dr. Kahlon provides exceptional care, and I believe that with some adjustments to the reception team's practices, the overall patient experience could be significantly enhanced. Improving responsiveness during check-ins and minimizing wait times could lead to a much smoother and more efficient process for everyone.

And I'd note that in leaving this review, I've recognized I am not the only individual with such sentiments or experiences as I have read thoroughly before posting this.

I hate leaving a review like this as I really enjoyed this doctors office and nothing has ever gone wrong, until today.

I called today (10/29/24) to schedule an appointment with Dr. Khaldas. There's a few issues i'm going to talk about.

1) I was informed on the phone that I have a note for a $70 no-show fee. I asked why this hasn't been mentioned previously seeing as I've had appointments with my doctor recently and this hasn't been mentioned up until today when I called. I have been a patient here for 7 years now, so I was frustrated hearing about this fee mainly because there was no appointment booked. Let me explain...

Supposedly I was scheduled for an appointment, however I wasn't. At a previous appointment, due to certain reasons, what I needed done had to wait so we dealt with what we could and a new appointment was going to be scheduled. I told the receptionists that I would wait to book because I was unsure of availability due to work hours.

Well here's where issue number 2 comes in.. Apparently I was "booked in for an appointment" for June 11th.. I never confirmed this date, never received a call, never spoke with anybody, nothing.

If I had an appointment, I was always called or left a voicemail as a reminder for an upcoming appointment. I didn't receive this call, because I did not have one booked. This feels unfair and unexpected to be charged a $70 fee for an appointment I had no knowledge of.

3rd issue - The receptionist read my number out loud, which is a number I haven't used in over 2 years, to which then I said that's not my number. She then repeated my current phone number..

So, now i'm being charged a fee over an appointment I never booked and they didn't remove my old number off of my file when it was updated. I'm failing to see how this is my issue? I went through all of my call and voicemail history to try and find a call from the doctors office, and of course, nothing was there.

Next, I also have a no show fee from 2019 for a "meet and greet appointment"? This was 5 years ago and again, I've had multiple visits with my doctor since then, so why wasn't this brought up sooner? Follow up is essential and unfortunately that was lacking here. The staff seemed unwilling to address the mistake or even offer a small solution.

Every single scheduled appointment, I have attended to this day and I have built a great rapport with Dr. Khaldas so I hate that i'm leaving this review but its nothing against her personally.

The receptionist I was speaking to sounds newer as I've only ever spoken with one other person and I didn't recognize this lady's voice.

They are all around very unprofessional and unorganized. I won't be returning to this doctors office.

I will never again go to another pharmacy, again this place Is amazing 👏 staff are so friendly and answer all your questions you might have! You feel so welcomed and looked right after as soon as you walk up to the counter. plus you get amazing deals, free delivery, I can not say enough good stuff of this pharmacy If I could give them 10 stars i would!

My first visit to this walk-in and the doctor barely paid any attention to me - never even lifting from his chair to take a look. Prescribed me with a topical steroid cream to use in my mouth only for the pharmacist to tell me that this product should not be used in the mouth as it is not safe. The pharmacy team confirmed with the doctor if this prescription was correct and explained the issues, and the doctor still said to go ahead. Thank goodness for the pharmacist who refused to fill this prescription and made me question the care I was being given. Will not be returning to this clinic.

This is the best pharmacy in brantford not only are they super fast but knowledgeable with alot of common sense. They always remember me and always have my medication ready when I walk in. If not the wait is minutes long, I really appreciate how kind and awesome all the staff are ! Thank you for awesome service!

I was a patient there but Ill be seeking care else where. I experienced the same treatment by doctor I'm to good for these white people Kahlon you can tell the way he treats people people different more attention when they're his own people

This is the worst walk in I have been too..

I had to wait almost 3 hours for a walk in.
Walk ins are not first come , first goes...
If you are a first time patient in this clinic or if its not your family doctor, they will make you wait 3 hours....  but for all the patient who has been with them before wait time is literally 10-15 mins .

So many patients who came after me as a walk-in was called immediately. Why this Discrimination? Not sure why they doing so, as doctors are getting same pay whether it is me (a new patient to clinic) or some other person who has been in the clinic.

I have never felt this difference in any other place. Not sure if this is a thing in Brantford ! New to this area .

All Walk in should be all treated the same even if they have been to clinic or not. Other wise state it so that patient is aware of it and can decide whether to proceed or not.

I wish someone told me this earlier.
I would have gone to a different clinic or ER and not wasting 3 hours of my time.
Like seriously this is worst place ever to be !

Even the front desk assistant are of no help. One of the lady was rude.
