I absolutely love this place. I have been going here since it opened, and there’s always something new to see. The fact it’s family owned is a huge draw as well; love supporting local businesses.
Some favourite things to look at are: the aisle with random instruments like flasks, beakers and dental instruments. The craft aisle is solid; I bought some $1 thread rolls years ago and I recon they’ll probably last my lifetime. The hygiene aisle as well is a mixed bag whenever I go, sometimes I’ll find $0.88 wetnwild makeup (a personal favourite) or good quality lip chap, or a hairbrush winners has for $14 that Surplus has for $3.
The sauces/condiments are my go-to food purchase. Yesterday I bought a 900g cheesewhiz for $5 and the visit before I bought a full L of bullseye bbq sauce for $5. Lighters are $2 and under, there’s LOTS of amazing camping stuff, outdoor items, tools, car items, stuff I would classify as “man hobbies/interests”, so if you’re one of those couples where one looks at everything and the other stands around, this would be the store both of you might be entertained in at the same time.

I'm glad I did. They've got a wide range of products at reasonable prices. I was looking for some home supplies and was pleased with the selection. The staff were friendly and helpful too. I'll definitely be back. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

I simply have never found better deals than at Brantford Surplus. I always find something new and useful, and the prices shock me. What a find, not knowing an item would be such a cheap price. I usually visit here when I need something specific but find plenty of other gems as well.

I had such a great time at Brantford Surplus. Their merchandise selection is top-notch, with so many unique items at unbelievable prices. The customer service was excellent, super friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be coming back for more of that unique shopping experience without breaking the bank. Highly recommended!

I had such a great time shopping at this discount retail store in Brantford. I found some amazing deals on a variety of items and the customer service was top-notch. The unique shopping experience made me feel like I was on a treasure hunt, and I left with bags full of goodies. Can't wait to go back!

Stopped by Brantford Surplus for some home supplies. Pleasantly surprised by their low prices. I grabbed a few items I needed and the total was lower than I expected. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking to save some cash. The staff were friendly and helpful too, which is always a bonus. I'll be back for sure.

I also noticed a significant decline in the quality and service at this store as of last week. The customer service has been disappointing compared to what I was accustomed to. The cashiers primarily spoke in Hindi or a language I couldn’t understand, making communication difficult.

Additionally, the store’s cleanliness has deteriorated, leaving it looking unkempt. The food section, in particular, has been concerning. I found several items either expired or close to their expiry date. For example, the expired pasta sauce I purchased tasted terrible, and one of my dinner guests even complained and declined to have have supper.

To make matters worse, I also discovered the gum I bought was expired. I’ve never checked expiry dates before, but this experience has made me paranoid about the quality of products sold here.

It isn’t enjoyable to see a once-reliable store lose its standards.

I hope they take steps to improve their cleanliness and inventory management soon.

My husband and I love shopping here. They have everything that you could be looking for, at some pretty Awesome prices. There hasn't been one item so far that we haven't found here. All the staff are professionally casual, and very helpful; right from Cashiers too floor staff. Great place too shop.
