Today I accidentally poisoned myself. Won’t bore you with how but it was fairly serious.
Fortunately I’m staying around the corner from Brockville General in Ontario, so I walked while I still could, vomitting several times on my way.
There’s probably not enough signage to Emergency outside because I had a bit of trouble finding the right door in.
Triage took my details and put me straight into a bed with ECG & blood work. Fortunately I had vomitted most of the poison and after 4 hours they let me go.
The young Indian doctor, Rodger or Actmar was amazing and very thorough. The nurses where great tho a little bossy.
In General I felt in safe hands so ….Thank you to all the staff at Emergency they are marvelous.

My son has severe asthma
They had him tight in and worked on him forever
Kept me informed and once he was stable I could see him.
Sent him to ICU and after 3 days and alot of medication changes they have him in the jest shape I have ever seen him

Yes ppl complain on huge wait times but they fixed him right up, they treated him very well , kept me informed all the way and worked with him to find the best medication combination

Go in with a knee injury wait an hour and a half in an empty emergency room no X-ray no idea of how long it will take just utterly ridiculous and I think the staff are just trying to prove a point. I’ve never had issues here before but this is crazy. Our health care system needs to have a major overhaul.

If I could give 0 I would. Triage nurse was flat, bordering on rude. We waited 8 hours to be seen for an infection that was a result of an operation at THIS hospital. Infection progresses for 8 hours while waiting. Infection is no joke. But to them it wasn’t as serious as a woman who was there to get her Diabetes meds adjusted ? And they tell us everyone has to wait. Well isn’t that just great. “Everyone has to wait” IS THE PROBLEM not the answer you give to the patient. And they wonder why they need to post a sign warning against people being aggressive towards them. They can be rude and opaque but we have to be nice, quiet little citizens and take the incompetence. You wouldn’t need the signs if the place was being run properly. No one would be upset or scared or worried if they were being seen in a reasonable amount of time.

If I could give 0 stars, I would.
I waited 5-6 hours in the waiting room with excruciating chest and kidney pain, they never even called me in- instead shrugged me off and treated me insanely poorly. The triage nurse was very rude which was uncalled for, however the nurse at the registration seemed to understand and seemed very caring.
What has this place come too.. definitely recommend going to Kemptville or literally anywhere else but here.

Just a little note to thank the paramedics, Amber and Josh who transported me to the hospital Tuesday night. They were courteous and efficient, while being positive and great to spend a short period of time with.
The hospital staff, including nurse Cindy, and the doctors, and xray techie Brandon, were efficient and pleasant. I did not have a serious problem, but they were thorough and helpful!
I also noticed other patients in emerg were treated with repect and kindness while I was there.

In the early hrs of Sept 1st while I was camping in the area, I unfortunately had a cardiac incident. I needed to go to emerg as I was in a very irregular heart rhythm. I was seen immediately and treated without delay. The team, nurses and respiratory tech headed up by Dr Heidi Wells were very professional and efficient. Thank you all for looking after me and getting me back in sync.
