Jo has been my optometrist since I was a kid. She provides excellent care to my family and I upon every visit! She is someone I sincerely trust with my eye care. Most recently, she quickly and effectively referred me to a specialist to ensure my health was in good hands. Her clinic is a beautiful, bright space which makes all my visits even nicer. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an eye doc in the Bow Valley! Thanks Jo 🙂

I love going to Canmore Family Eyecare. First, the staff are excellent - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Next, the premises are clean and comfortable and there is a wide variety of attractive glass frames from which to choose. But best is Dr. Joanna Phillips, my eye doctor. My family has been seeing Dr Jo since my oldest daughter had her first exam at 2. Dr Jo and her staff takes their work very seriously without taking themselves too seriously. Over the last 11 years, have found Joanna and her staff to be incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and sensitive to budget. Dr Jo and her staff are on always on top of the latest trends and tech in eye medicine and will offer you additional services without being pushy. My children recently had their annual eye exams at Canmore Family Eyecare’s new location. It was nice to see that the new clinic has the same bright, friendly atmosphere as before. The staff, Joanne, Amanda and Natsuko, were welcoming and put the kids at ease. Dr Phillips was great with my kids; supporting their curiosity and moving through the exam smoothly without us feeling rushed. It was the best decision I made to switch optometrists. Dr. Joanna Phillips explained why eye examinations were taken and for what it was. The past optometrist just took all the examinations and did not do any explaining. Dr. Joanna detected a serious condition in my daughter’s retina and she was referred to Calgary for surgery in a timely manner. If we just stayed in the past optometrist, I shudder thinking if that was discovered. Now, all of us in the family are under the care of Dr. Joanna Phillips.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Jo Phillips at Canmore Family Eyecare for over 5 years and have had nothing short of EXCEPTIONAL service at every single appointment.

Recently my 11 year old son was complaining of frequently having blurred vision and Dr. Jo was able to get him in for a check up within 48hrs of my call. It turns out his eyes had changed a fair bit within the last year and it was time for glasses! At no time did we feel pressured to purchase glasses immediately. In fact, Dr. Jo advised we could hold off until closer to the school year or until we got our benefits sorted out.

When we came back to the clinic a few weeks later to try on some glasses, we had the pleasure of seeing Joanne who helped my son select an amazing pair of Ray Bans. My son wasn’t exactly sure what colour of frames he wanted and they didn’t have them in the store on display so Joanne was kind enough to load the website and show him all of the colour scheme/combinations so he knew exactly what they would look like. Joanne was extremely helpful, patient and went out of her way to make sure we 100% satisfied with our purchase.

When the frames arrived in, I was promptly informed and my son was invited to come and try on the frames one more time before they sent them away to get the lens in. Within two weeks we were called back and informed my sons glasses had arrived.

I big shout out to all of the staff at Canmore Family Eyecare for their fabulous service (especially for making us feel safe during every appointment during COVID). We are so pleased!!
