The wait was long but understandable considering how crazy overbooked everyone is. Almost all the doctors were very sweet and hardworking and had the funniest nurse! One morning doctor was not so great though, tried to replace my arthritis prescription with another NSAID despite me saying no and how dangerous my family doctor told me that was Other than that though, everyone was great!

I understand the importance of each patient is up to the intake nurses to decide but can someone tell me how I have been waiting here since 7 AM and it is now 11 AM and I have had sooooo many people arrive after me and be served hours before me for simple things like having a cast taken off, while I am sitting here bleeding internally. This is a joke.

Edit: after speaking to a gentlemen, me and him both agreed my problem was MUCH more severe than his and talked about the lack of help here. He then proceeds to get called… before me… after he showed up at 10 and I’ve been here since 7.

Great technical care.

I noticed that the emergency room staff seem to have a culture of teasing patients, prepare yourself for that and try not to take it personally.

Kind triage nurses.

Combined the three statements above create what's called a compliment sandwich, a very basic communication tool, the Healthcare professionals will have good luck implementing this.

We took our 2 year old for blood collection yesterday and everyone working was so amazing from the moment we walked in! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The woman taking the blood was amazing with my son and made it as easy as possible for a 2 year old and even people who were working around us came over and were sweet and encouraging to my son for doing a good job. Someone gave him a toy car which made him so happy and another girl at the registration came over and gave him something he was admiring on her desk which put a huge smile on his face. I was so worried about bringing him for blood work but they made it such and amazing experience!

Spent two very painful trips for the same thing, waiting for 8 hours the first time, the doctor barely came, didn’t get pain meds even though I begged, boyfriend begged, but it took so long and screaming and crying in pain. The second time I waited 11 hours just to be told it could be something completely opposite of what it was, without treatment and not good advice from the doctor, that was sympathetic to the wait and lack of attentiveness, but still didn’t help. Also said results would be followed up with me in a few days, for tests I had to basically ask for be they didn’t really wanna do more testing on me even though they didn’t find the issue at hand. And upon calling the hospital, and being directed to the wrong place multiple times I was finally informed it’s because I don’t have a provincial healthcare therefore I couldn’t get my results. Great. So now my issues are still ongoing for months continued and without a doctor I have no other option but to hope next time I need them I’m not dying.

Edit-they also need to make people aware they won’t see you in the evening past a certain time because they close at 12, and they don’t have the poor volunteers educated on what else people can do, saying the Dartmouth hospital is just as busy is not very helpful or comforting when you’re in pain

Took my partner there at noon after a work injury. Waited five hours never to be seen. Was directed to come back in the morning. Arrived before it open and there was a line up. Then when it opened no one directing patients so people started arguing and yelling. We left and went to Dartmouth general. Waited three hours and nothing. Left and am now sitting in Windsor hoping my partner gets X-rays on probably broken bones.

Went to the hospital for Pneumonia meds and puffers, got in after 3 hour wait to say they are only here to guide me to the proper hospital and "the new poicy" the doctors aren't allowed to give out meds. I was called an "over capacity patient". Wth?

have been to the facility three times now, one quite long visit last summer and two appointments lately- very pleasant ,helpful and efficient staff-easy parking most impressed!
