Dr. De Gracia is an excellent doctor. She’s straightforward, honest, and truly takes the time to listen me. I appreciate her no-nonsense approach—it’s clear she genuinely cares and wants what’s best for you. She doesn’t rush through appointments and makes sure all your questions are answered. I always leave feeling heard and confident in the care I’m receiving. Highly recommend her!

Dismissive, Overpriced, and Questionable Handling of a Medical Need

I came to this clinic visibly limping and in pain from what I believed to be a sprained or injured knee. I was received by Dr. Ayad, was briefly assessed, acknowledged the possibility of a ligament sprain, and recommended Voltaren gel, but then dismissed my inability to walk properly as “not serious” and refused to provide a doctor’s note for work unless I paid $60–$80—a highly unreasonable fee for such a basic document.

This felt exploitative and negligent. A suspected ligament injury that impairs mobility should be treated with caution and compassion, not dismissal. Charging nearly $80 just to acknowledge a patient’s need for rest is deeply unethical.

This clinic prioritizes revenue over responsible care, and I would strongly advise others—especially those without insurance or income—to seek help elsewhere. No one should be forced to choose between medical documentation and financial survival.

I’ve been here for many years and Maria was always the one taking all my appointments. But lately they have a new lady that they hired. She booked 2 of my appointments. First appointment she booked me. I came in the morning and was told that my name was not on the list of clients for the day. I was thinking to myself that it’s fine probably because she’s new to the job. Second appointment when I called she sounded really rude on the phone. I don’t know if she was having a bad day. But just my opinion if you’re working in any job. It would be nice to talk to someone politely and be respectful. If you can’t do that I guess that job is not suited for you.

My experience here is very interesting. I’ve seen Dr Ayad many times on a walk in basis as I don’t have a family doctor. My appointments were fine. Walk ins are typically fast. Reception is nice. Dr Ayad is to the point. And like any doctor visit, I always get a second opinion, and always listen to my body first, as any doctor can be wrong despite good intentions. I’ve never been offended by his opinions or advices. He always seems to care and do his best.

Haven’t been back for maybe two years. Today I go in to get a pre-operative exam as a walk in, since I’ve seen him before. The receptionist, who is always kind, politely told me there was a note on my file that I am banned from the clinic lol. I was never given a reason or an impression that something sour happened.

I can recall my last appointment two years ago, I was concerned over some blood test results months prior, and wanted to get them tested again for my own sanity. I have struggled with chronic health issues for a while prior to this, so maybe I am a bit of a hypochondriac… but neglecting the signs has actually done me damage before, so I am very fast acting if anything is off. I have Lyme disease and at one point in my life it was very bad so I take my health and symptoms / test results seriously. Anyways, upon asking for a follow up blood test and letting him know I was especially concerned because I have Lyme (and I was worried it might be flaring), he was very reluctant to give me another blood test, and gave a whole speech about his skepticism over my Lyme diagnosis. He also said he would never administer a Lyme test and/ or treatment unless there was an official Lyme tick announcement from AHS. This was fine. It didn’t bother me. I didn’t ask for Lyme treatment or a test. I already paid privately for an official test and was positive for the bacteria, I know for a fact I contracted it lmao. I think what made him upset was that when he asked how I was treating the Lyme, I said I did it through a naturopath. Understandably, he obviously disagreed with this method of healthcare. That’s fine. But all I wanted was a follow up blood test! Haha. Anyways after some back and forth, he eventually asked what would make me happy. I said the blood test. He gave it to me.

I don’t know why this interaction would then cause me to be banned from this location. Very weird in my opinion. He clearly was offended in some way, which I apologize for (?) but it is super strange. There should be nothing wrong with advocating for your own health. And doctors should be more open minded. I’ve been to many other walk in clinics where GPs actually acknowledge the FACT that western medicine does NOT have all the answers and we can actually learn a thing or two from other practices. This seems to be a much more progressive way of thinking.

Anyways. I was not disrespectful. Just a difference in opinion on healthcare maybe? That shouldn’t have gotten in the way of a simple and reasonable request for a follow up blood test. Which is all I asked for lol. It’s a little comical and I’m confused what as to what was so offensive in our conversation.

Thanks for the service while it lasted!

Dr. DeGracia has been my family physician for years now. I respect her straight forward yet kind approach. She worked to get me in to a specialist, against my stubbornness. And it was the best thing, started me on a true journey of healing. She recommends things when appropriate and doesn't try to push the latest pharmaceutical. She will work with you honestly and with your best interest at heart. She takes the time to answer questions and is honest when she doesn't know something, but will find out for you!

I've only been here once as a walk in a number of months ago, but plan to use this clinic again. I got the help I needed from Dr Ayad, (hope I spelled correctly) who also sent me for extra testing to ensure I didn't have further complications. The rx advice he gave me got me back on track too. There was some wait time but not too bad considering they have their own patients. I am happy with my experience and front end staff was very kind.

I'm very impressed with Deerfoot Meadows Clinic. Receptionists are friendly and accommodating. Doctor Ayad is kind, professional, and makes patients feel valued. He had a complete medical work up done to give a baseline of my health. I feel lucky to have him as my family doctor.

A muscle in my chest next to my heart was experiencing severe, unknown pain. Dr. Hani Ayad contented himself with giving me a painkiller without sending me for tests more accurate than an EKG examination. Without any advice.

He also told me that my cholesterol level was high, but he did not specify to what level. He did not give me any number that he obtained from the test results.
He also contented himself with writing a prescription for a medication for cholesterol without giving me any advice about what to eat or what I should not eat or what do I do to reduce my cholesterol level? Nothing, just a prescription, nothing else

Dr. Ayad didn’t examine me. He did not check my blood pressure or my temperature or anything. I drove my car for half an hour to sit in his room for three minutes.

It was my fault that I chose to go to this clinic. I do not advise anyone to go there as long as you do not know how to deal with an arrogant personality
