I ended up in the hospital on the Easter weekend (2024)with an infected Gall bladder - I was transported to the hospital by ambulance and ended up in Cobourg hospital-- I was able to meet Dr Stratford in the early afternoon and I can tell you I was totally impressed - he is the most down to earth and concerned Doctor I have ever dealt with- He had me scheduled for surgery within a couple of hours and called his OR team in. When I got to the OR his team was EXCELLENT and thorough . They explained everything to me and away I went - Well that was my journey and thankfully I had a great Doctor and a professional team behind him. So a GIANT THANK YOU to Dr Stratford and team- ( I would have given him 10 stars if I could !!)

Thankful that Dr Stratford's diagnosis of possible C-diff was relayed from the beginning of my [almost a] month in the hospital...and he was correct! Although, it took a month of [many doctor's] numerous tests until it was confirmed. In the interim, my infected gall bladder was removed by Dr Stratford. The serious complications - of the brewing C-diff - was an extremely painful and frustrating nightmare.

An excellent human being, in addition to being a wonderful surgeon / doctor. Took the time to explain my husbands surgery in detail himself. Is kind and easy to speak to. Is also extremely humble. This is the doctor I would hope my loved one receives care from.

Dr.Stratford is a credit to his profession. He has a broad knowledge base and very approachable. He removed my cancer and 2 lymph nodes which were clear. As a retired RN I can say that he is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and puts his patients at ease. He saved my life and so I am in his debt. Was a most frightening experience but has an amazing outcome thanks to him.

After some Northumberland Hospital pre-op analysis, it was determined that I should have corrective surgery. It would be performed by Dr. Stratford. My first surgery ever! Dr. Stratford met with me two days before the operation and gave me every confidence that the surgery would be low risk and a success - which it was. On the day of the operation he even asked me what type of music I preferred? And as I lay on the operating table awaiting the arrival of his team, I could hear the softest jazz being played over the sound system - my favourite music. Wow! My recovery went exactly as described by Dr. Stratford. What a surgeon. Talk about a personal touch. I bet he is the most liked surgeon in the hospital.
