They suck! As others have reviewed, they act like you're an imposition.

Then the prices... Do they not realize how far away the are from the competition?

Then after care. Glad they scared me off before spending money here. I have two (polite) relatives that were told to take a hike. One who's prescription made their eyesight worse. Another who asked to have their frames adjusted, after being told to come back if there were issues with their $500+ purchase.

Kawartha is the first and last place I'll ever go

Hakim will be out of business soon.

Called to make an appointment, the person was very friendly. The website says your local Hakim will direct bill both the eye appointment as well as the eyewear. They told me upon booking that the eye doctor they use will not direct bill the appointments. False advertising. Below is the exert from your website.

"With direct billing, you don’t need to pre-pay for eye care services, submit invoices to your insurer, and then wait to be reimbursed. Instead, just present your insurance information at your local Hakim Optical store and we’ll bill the insurance company directly, so you’re not paying out of pocket for covered expenses"

Can’t read out of one pair of glasses and they don’t fit properly even after multiple adjustments. My husbands glasses broke and he was quoted $450 to fix them after he was told they were under warranty. Wasted lots of money here. Very disappointing.

Ben and the girls were great with my 83 year old father. Ben took the time to make my dad feel comfortable and explained everything to him. He even went as far as to cut dad's new lenes himself to make sure that they were perfect. I know that this store's rating are low but that is not because of the staff that is there now. All the old staff has left so go give this place a try.

Excellent selection of frames, very helpful staff. Quality in the finished product along with the expert fitting of the new glasses ( 2 pair) was first rate. Mike made the final adjustments and all was perfect. Price seems to be a little better than other optical stores but it's the quality of the lenses and the service that stands out.
Have been a satisfied Hakim customer since the mid 1970's - that's a lot of glasses and a great stock pile of glass cases. I have been going to the Cobourg location since 2011 and found the Cobourg location run by Mike and his team to always make and stand behind the product. And adjustment and repairs are made without hesitation.

I will never, ever purchase anything from Hakim Optical again! I feel that I've been misled regarding the pricing structure given that the 2 quotes are significantly different !! Never, have I picked up a pair of new glasses that they did not ask for the glasses to be put on to determine the fit. ..not at this pitiful store! It was here's your glasses. .don't forget to come back and have them adjusted later! I ask Mr Hogan why there was a difference of approximately $150 and he told me that he "forgot" that Hakim charged more for the stronger prescription!
Then I asked for different cases for my $600 glasses and the sales girl said that's all they had!!! The store was lined with glass cases everywhere! When I pointed to the cases I would like she told me that the displays couldn't be touched. ..unbelievable I replied. I told her that given I had just spent a huge amount on glasses that I would not ever purchase there again! Her reply, "that's ok!"
Horrible customer service and very sketchy response to pricing glasses! !

Given the wrong appointment information. Took the day off work and showed up for my appointment and was told it was on a different day. Booked somewhere else and called several times to cancel with Hakim, no one answers the damn phone. Terrible service, if I could give less than a star I would.

I am a repeat customer of Hakim Cobourg, having bought replacement prescription eye and sunglasses several years ago.

It came time recently to get my prescription updated and buy new glasses. I purchased two fine pair from Hakim Cobourg but was never advised I was eligible for a third pair at discount. I found out watching an ad on CP 24 one morning.

I called and was told to come in and they would rectify the situation. At that time, my aged mother took terribly ill. My siblings and I were commuting for an extended period of time to Sunnybrook in TO from Cobourg, Brighton and Uxbridge. I forgot about the glasses offer. Mom passed and when I returned 70 days later, HAKIM chose not to honour the deal, saying I had been too long out from my most recent purchase.

Will never do business with Hakim Cobourg again, and I am a Cobourg small business and I will always honour my customers, quite unlike Mike at Hakim Cobourg.

Find another place to do business PLEASE!
