Had an Ultrasound and two (2) different x-rays on July 23 2024. The receptionist was friendly and professional. The technicians were also friendly, professional, patient, courteous and empathetic. THANK YOU for the positive experience .... Jerry

Nothing but good things to say about this hospital all around. Especially compared to Barrie/Alliston hospitals.
I've delivered 4 babies here and wouldn't have another at any location but here.

My husband visited Hanover emergency Aug 6 and they were swamped, we were told to expect 5 hour wait if no critical emergencies arrived. We weren’t thrilled but needed to address the problem, so settled in for the long haul.
In about 10 minutes triage nurse called husband in and in 5 minutes he came out all smiles
The nurse discussed his symptoms, which presented to us like a broken wrist and suggested it was goute, since he had the required medication already we were in and out of emergency in well under half an hour. The exceptional skills of his triage nurse not only saved us from a long wait but helped everyone who arrived after us get seen that much quicker.
He didn’t get her name but I hope she sees this and recognizes the situation.
Please know that at least one patient on your stressful shift on the civic long weekend really appreciated your help.

I had my baby in Hanover. He was born with gastroschisis. They had not seen a baby born like that there in years. The care team did an incredible job getting him out safely. They called everyone in to help with the birth. He is now healthy and happy. You went above and beyond to keep us both safe and comfortable. I will be forever grateful. Thankyou so much!

Labour and Delivery
I had my 1st baby at HDH in 2021 and the experience was excellent (as great as birth can be…. Lol) I didn’t get an epidural so I was in tremendous amount of pain and the nurses were phenomenal!! 5 star experience, even the day(s) after I gave birth.
I had my 2nd child in the spring of 2023 and my experience was the complete opposite. The nurses rarely checked in while I was labouring. And the days after I gave birth (c-section) they rarely checked in - unless I rang the bell and waited 15/20 mins. They came every few hours to check in, at the most. (With my first child they took my blood pressure probably every hour, nott with my second child)
I’m not a high maintenance patient, quite the opposite actually. But my second experience at HDH was not good. Just because it’s your second child doesn’t mean it’s any easier.

My husband brought me in on August 13, 2023 because I was experiencing dizziness, my balance was very bad, had a hard time trying to explain to the doctor about the constant headaches that are accompanied by gushing nose bleeds. I have never had nose bleeds in my life. I was not checked out, I was told that the doctor thought that I was a druggie and that the hospital had no medical records for me from 2014-2020. I have had three surgeries in that hospital during those years. I am now to afraid to go back to the hospital because of Dr. Ian Eckensweiler. I also have severe ptsd that he feels needs to be re-diagnosed for a third time. I have lived in this area for over 30 years. Fix my medical records please.

In the past 5 years I’ve been to the emergency department 2 times and had pathetic results. First time was with a major pressure behind my left eye. But after mentioning the fact this pressure was not affecting my vision the doctor (Dr Batten)on call’s response was (I don’t know). I suggest an eye exam and was told by the same doctor try that and was sent on my way. I made an appointment with my family doctor as with an actual exam she told me I had a serious sinus infection.
2nd time (recently) went into Hanover emergency with a head and ear issue. (4 hours of waiting I was not examined!!!! ) There was only a conversation, prescription (which was a total waste of my money)and sent on my way again.DR Eckensweiler)
This morning I went to the Durham emergency for a total of 50 minutes!!
The doctor on call, examined me and told me I have a flow problem. No infections. Simple over the counter medication and steps to get this issue under control.
I won’t ever unless I’m dragged in by an ambulance EVER enter Hanover hospital again!!!!! In my opinion incompetence and don’t care about the real problems of the patients.
