The emergency department is poorly staffed. People are sitting around waiting far too long to be seen. They need to put a better system in place to get the people in and treated. Can’t imagine what they would do if there was a larger # of people in the waiting room. There were only 13 people when I was there. This is totally unacceptable.

This hospital is definitely not for kids. First off im a youth, i went there on a friday around 3 pm because i couldnt walk, numbness and tingling, throwing up,ect. Waited there till 3AM in the morning, just for them to say it could be my medication/stress. I believe them because i had no clue but my mother wasnt to sure that was the reason. I got worst after the hospital and couldnt eat, weight loss for no reason, Ect. on a monday we go to cheo, find out that i have something called gbs and if i waited any longer it could of went to my brain and killed me. So i do not recommend this hospital what so ever. for kids anyway. Cheo is the right hospital. This is upsetting.

Gotta love going to the hospital, getting some tests done, being told there are irregularities with some “bad news” that I’ll have info on for in 2 days… and it’s almost 2 weeks later with no news, no contact, no one who calls back. I’ve dealt with hospitals in the states and all over Ontario and NEVER had the “service” (if you want to call it that) I’ve had here in Cornwall. For all you ladies out there make sure you bring your own lubricant if you’re having a pap or biopsy… apparently male doctors/obgyn don’t know that the plastic “device” that gets shoved into you needs to be lubricated before inserted. But looked at me weird when I started to cry. Pfft. Not even about bedside manner, it’s COMMON SENSE THATS NOT SO COMMON ANYMORE

My sister hurt her knee badly in a fall. We got to emergency and stayed for seven hours. The x-ray was done quickly, and then nothing for over 5 hours. It was not busy. She was put in a room with no air circulation for 2 hours. We started drinking water from the tap from dehydration. They should ensure there is water and information when the wait is long. A health care centre shouldn't be setup and run in a manner that leads to dehydration.
I wondered if there was no one to read the x-ray.
We saw a doctor and she texted the x-ray to an orthopedic surgeon. Knee brace was put on with a head x-ray done.
They arranged follow up appointments for today. The knee brace was too big but the doc said it is not needed and nurse is getting any charge canceled. For appointments, they are quick. Not sure if we will need to sit around waiting for ct results to be read.
Almost four hours and still waiting for results. They could have let us go and phoned it in. It's obviously not urgent.
I hate to abandon my sister but it's getting rough, and I have a lot of patience.

11 hour wait, doctor was condescending and dismissive towards me, was it because I was the only one in the whole building wearing a mask? The hospital staff are incredibly friendly but we are in desperate need serious change to the healthcare system. Then these same people sit around all day and scratch their heads wondering why young native men such as myself end up in terrible mental states in spite of “all these services” (that either don’t exist or are only for Mohawks so they try and pass me off to Ottawa). Something needs to be done or else Cornwall will always have a reputation of a town full of hurting people with no hope

Boyfriend went in with chest pain, eleven hours later, still hasn't been seen.

Don't bother calling switchboard to see if they've been seen because you'll get a response of "I have no clue, says he's somewhere back there".

Top notch health care system we have in Cornwall!!!

I would like to thank everyone who took care of me yesterday starting from the paramedics to all the staff in the x-ray department. The doctor on duty yesterday as well, thank you to the plastering casting person again thank you so much as you were extremely busy and I got the best care thank you and again just a short note. I should’ve gotten everybody’s name but I didn’t but I hope you see this and you know it’s you

Easily my favorite ER to visit when necessary, I've been to a few locations in Ottawa and I have to say the ER in Cornwall will always be my first choice when possible. I have received top notch care from doctors and nurses alike and couldn't speak more highly of the staff in general.
