My family and I were new to Collingwood with a baby on the way. We were scrambling to find a new family doctor. Dr. Jessica Dobson took our baby in as her patient days after he was born. She has provided incredible care for our son, taking all the extra steps to ensure he is healthy. We have so much trust in her. She takes her time with us and is very compassionate towards any questions we have as first time parents. Office team is also absolutely wonderful. -Kirstin Enright

I recently made the incredible mistake of signing up with Dr Ladda at 339 Hume St Medical Health Building as my child’s and my General Physician; mostly because he has been the only family doctor accepting patients in town since we relocated here two years ago.

Every time I attempt to schedule an appointment with “my family doctor” the receptionist at 339 Hume St first puts me on hold right off the bat for a minimum of 7 - 10 minutes. When she graces me with her time I am greeted with impatience and frustration despite my having made no requests of her at all at that point.

I am a single mom and am employed as a cashier, being provided with my weekly hours on Monday afternoons. Her reply has been the same since my one initial appointment (where I was mislead by being greeted with open arms and treated as though I was a welcome addition to the practice)…”you cannot expect us to provide you with an appointment with only a weeks notice! If you want the doctor to fill your regularly prescribed medication, you need to go to a pharmacy and have the pharmacist make the request him or herself so it can be sent to your doctor and be issued to them at the fee of $20 each time.

I have done some research about Dr Ladda and 339 Hume St Health… Dr. Ladda was awarded a massive amount of money (as well as the “medical clinic” to set up his practice in Collingwood. He was PAID with OUR TAX DOLLARS to provide a service he is just barely complying with. In order to receive the HUGE AMOUNT of incentive money we paid him to practice here he was required to take on a minimum of 900 new patients

BUT it was not stipulated how much service he would be required to provide to those patients(!!) Currently Dr. Ladda is only working 3 days a week from 9Am to 3Pm to provide life saving medical support to 900 patients!! Since my first initial appointment with him he has been “unavailable” during every other open time slot I have. He started me on a serious medication that requires monthly appointments he is unable to provide without my taking days off work that will inevitably lead to my losing my job.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! And avoid doing business with corrupt people like the “receptionist and all others involved with taking money from desperate people in need of medical attention at 339 Hume St! We need to stand up and show people like this only for profit Doctor and invoice happy receptionist that people in collingwood look out for an care about eachother.

Shame on you for taking our hard earned money under the pretence of providing our physician starved community with the assistance we require.

Jessica Dobson was one of the many dismissive doctors I have had in my life. When I had the availability to see a doctor she was almost always gone with no replacement (volunteering at other locations, or gone on maternity leave).

Leaving this review here because I've since been diagnosed and the symptoms started when she was still my family doctor. She refused to listen to more than one symptom at a time, and because of this, I had to pick and choose between ailment A and ailment B. Some of the issues I had, when you isolate it, it seems very insignificant and minor. But when you look at the full list of problems, it turned out to be leading up to something much bigger. Either she's very inexperienced as a doctor, or she is neglectful. Neither option is reassuring.

She was the kind of doctor that would just tell you to try losing weight but looked at your weight as a cause instead of a symptom. Turns out I would have never been able to lose weight due to my health issues and I need specific medications. It's sad to see it's still a shared experience today.
