I have been a patient of Dr. Fola for 5+ years now. I came to her with a bunch of autoimmune conditions and was looking for specialists, and a doctor to stay on top of annual testing/screening etc. Dr. Fola has many connections through the Barrie & family community health team and I now have an incredible team of doctors supporting me in my health. Yes Dr Fola is busy and she may be running behind at times, but she has truly empowered me to take my health into my own hands. If I need an ultrasound, bloodwork, have concerns of any kind she will send me to the lab/hospital/specialist to run tests. She listens and takes her time. She is busy, but in my opinion a very good doctor. She also has a very helpful nurse practitioner assisting her and a solid reception team. Again, yes they are busy and their phone line may have you on hold in a queue for a period of time- have patience, they will answer eventually and try to accommodate.

This review is in regards to Dr.Fola specifically for the amount of years of my life I WASTED trying to seek care from her I will never get back. The amount of tears and frustration that I experienced. If I could go back I would have never chose her as my doctor. I went to her mainly because she is a women and so I thought that she would understand the needs with my reproduction system better, I was wrong. I have recently been diagnosed with a slew of conditions with my new doctor; that knew I have suffered from for years, tried to advocate for, and was ultimately made to feel crazy for while under her care.

She once told me "have you seen your file" when discussing a referral to a specialist that she had not sent out (one of many), as to make me feel bad for my the issues I have had since a I was a kid and how long I have been in the healthcare system. All because she had to "sift" through the many electronic pages. I am my file, I am aware of how much it is because I first hand deal with the concerns.

I eventually de-rostered myself and found a new doctor who has genuinely shown me what it means to have a health care provider who actually cares.

If you are thinking about having her as your family doctor. Don't. I know wait times are bad to find one, but your experience with her will be worse.

This is not a family doctor. Takes months to get an appointment, then they cancel on you. Zero care for patients. No follow up. No sending you to a specialist when it was confirmed by tests I have no circulation to my legs and feet. For 5 years! Just waiting on a stroke/ heart attack. Do you have a family doctor? No I really don't. They need to remove me as a patient so I can have a chance to get a real doctor. Dr. Fola was my false doctor. Would never recommend.

Extremely poor family doctor. Always overbooks. I waited an hour and a half after my appointment time and he still had 2 patients ahead of me. I was only there to have him repeat my prescriptions as he won't do it without an in person appointment as he wants to be paid for the service. My husband has also been delayed for his appointments. He wants to be paid, but we are sitting waiting for him and we aren't getting paid by our employers. WOW just WOW

Terrible service. Reception never answers the phone, dr Harvey brings timers into his appointment when he just had you waiting over an hour to see him. Doesn’t follow through with paper work or referrals. Just overall not a great family dr. Doesn’t take the time to even care for his patients.

Became a patient of his earlier this year, and filled out my forms. Was told I'd be called for an appointment I 1 to 2 weeks. Never got a call. I had to call them. Even then, they booked me for the end of July. I recently found out I'm pregnant, and with a history of difficulties I need to be seen asap to ensure the health of the baby. Well, they wouldn't even book me for a phone appointment until July as well. All I needed was a referral form for bloodwork. So I went to a clinic. Now I'm back at a clinic to get a referral form for an OB because I am not sitting around waiting to be seen. The office is poorly ran.

I’m so thankful to have Dr. Fola as our family Dr. She fabulous, and always fits us in for last minute appointments! Receptionist also are really great, yes they are busy yes sometimes you have to leave a message but they will and do return your call, sometimes even Dr. Fola herself returns the calls.
