I am a visitor to the island, and unexpectedly had to take my kid here to Emergency at night to get her checked out. This is the most efficient emergency room experience I’ve ever had. I’m from a larger community that has excellent health care workers and facilities, but being seen and done in under 90 minutes in a smaller community hospital was a refreshing change from my usual emergency room experience! The triage nurse, ER nurse and the young doctor was saw were friendly and caring toward my daughter.

Every single time I or a family member go here, we always wait HOURS for somebody to see us, every time - even regarding an infant child!

So I’m confused as to how my experiences with this hospital differs SO drastically with these other reviews. We’ve been here probably at least 10 separate occasions throughout the course of 10 years while we travel in and out of the island. A few times even, after hours of waiting, we had to LEAVE THIS HOSPITAL to find care ELSEWHERE, not kidding. So how? Really makes you wonder………

End of the day, unfortunate to say about a hospital, but won’t be coming back. Thankfully, there are other options farther away, but it’s worth the drive because at least we get treated (better).

2-stars for providing adequate care for others though.

My mother had to attend the ER for assessment. She was treated with compassion, kindness, understanding and efficiency. All diagnostic testing was quickly completed. We are both exceptionally grateful to the professional and competent care she received from the moment she entered the assessment centre and it carried through to the admitting clerk, the nurses and the Physician on duty. Thank you to all working the morning of April 24, 2022!!

Attended at the emergency today. Was greeted at the incoming station by a friendly female attendant who then sent me to the waiting room. Was then greeted by a male nurse who walked me to a triage room where he left me for a very short period of time before I was assessed by Dr Kevin O’Connor. I was then given a prescription and was heading out the door within 45 minutes! Very efficient and effective response to my need! Thankyou!!

I loved the care I received at Mindemoya Hospital. I had a tree fall on my knee and after a 1/2 hour or so I was seen and within an hour I was released with bandages galore but no broken bones! Great service, especially the administration and all the nurses. The doctor was gentle and considerate.

Terrible nursing not knowledgeable at all they don't look after there patients very well I think the worse hospital on Manitoulin island

Was travelling from Toronto and got extreme dizziness while in Manitoulin. Quite alarmed, went to MHC emergency. The service was prompt, courteous, professional, and proficient. Thanks to Dr. Francesca (sorry, don't know the last name), nurse, and admitting nurse for excellent service. Was in and out within 2hrs. Thanks again MHC!
