I had the best experience I have ever had at a hospital in my life last week. I went in for a gallbladder issue and I was placed in a room right away, had an IV inserted and medication to calm my stomach and for pain all within 15 minutes. Blood was drawn and X-rays taken within a couple of hours of being there. They sent me to owensound for an ultrasound and to see a surgeon. My gallbladder was removed that day.all of this in less than 13 hours. I was pretty impressed. Thank you all

Went to the ER today for difficulty breathing. First, every single staff member was lovely. Unfortunately dont recall their names or else I would name them here. Doctor was professional, with good bedside manner, thoroughly listened to my concerns and answered my questions.

I don't believe a hospital review should be based off wait times, but I was in and out within 1.5 hours.

Update!!!
If I could give a minus rating I would , it's more towards a certain dr by the name of dr. Umer Hafiz . My wife has had so many health issues over the years and her dr wanted blood work on Friday and she couldn't make it due to not being able to drive herself as she was to dizzy . So we decided to go in to emerge , after waiting for multiple hours , he simply wrote her off and declined to do blood work , this is my wife who has had iron deficiency and many iron infusions. Threw medication at it and told her to go home and rest. I called in and told him everything as I was watching our kids , and said her family dr even ordered blood work and he still refused to do his due diligence to make sure there wasnt something else . So I plainly said to him how stupid is he not to do blood work and then he hung up on me . This is negligence and I will make sure to let everyone be aware of this experience !
Pretty sad that they get paid even when they don't do their job properly!

Update
Thought I would update , she had blood work done the following Monday , her vitamin D was extremely low , hence the dizziness . Started vitamin D supplements asap and about a week later she was feeling much better.

Recently had a minor procedure in the ambulatory care department. The staff were all professional, friendly and kind. The receptionist, nurses & doctor all introduced themselves and informed me of everything they were going to do. Thank you Markdale Hospital staff.

I was admitted to Markdale hospital on Oct 27.2024 for a quadding accident. I dislocated my ankle and broke my tibia. I was in terrible excruciating pain and very scared when admitted. I was taken in by ambulance. I was also feeling some shock.
The nurses in this hospital are absolutely the RUDEST people I have ever met in healthcare. Their bedside manner is so disgusting. I was spoken to with ZERO compassion and was basically told to shut up not in those words when asking for some pain relief. I was basically made to shut up. I was literallty told this by the nurse "mind over matter". Are kidding me? I also was suffering terrible anxiety. I was also told many times how long they've been nurses. Maybe that's their problem they have zero compassion. I cried due to their behavior. I do want to note that the doctor that reset my ankle was a very nice man and I appreciated his demeanor in that terrible time.

I went to Cambridge Memorial Hospital the next day to fracture clinic and I was met with tons of compassionate nurses and doctors..it was night and day!!! They understood my feelings and concerns and made such a difference in my feelings.

If you can't be compassionate in this field then you shouldn't be in it. PERIOD.

I hope to never be in this hospital again!!!

They gave me something i was allergic too.. on purpose just because i take pain medication and asked for pain meds because i am in litterall excruciating pain. About 5 min after they gave me the med and wrote the name and dose of the pain med they should have given me, i lost my ability to breathe 4x for about a min each time... heart racing... ect. The nurse made me feel bad for asking if thats what was given or bot ect. Thankfully because my breathing came back i didnt die but could have! I only have that experiwnce with 1 med!!!! Toridol. Just because that happens with toridol doesnt mean im pretending or faking pain ect. I have on going health issues and a paralyzed stomach... almost everything gives me such bad pain. However my medication usually always keeps it under control if taken in my feeding tube. I take my meds at the same time or a few hours close to the normal time everyday and NEVER have that happen to me, neither when given at the hospital.... but i could hear them whispering about me. Judging me, because of how sick i look ( i look like a homeless women who hasnt eaten in months... and i really havnt eaten in months. I am currently still waiting on my feeding tube change. Finally in 2 weeks i wont have to go to any hospital again for months or until my flare up is too hard to handle at home, and still i am not going there! Im sick of being judged because i take pain meds aftwr 20 years of excruciating pain that made me have to homeschool, miss out on teen life, grad ect.. you name it. I missed out on it. Obviously they dont get that since they have been healthy their whole life and bever suffered this kind of pain. My entire lower body os swollen and lips. The nurse said " thats illegal" yeah... no shit sherlock. But you deff didnt gice what u wrote on the bag... you can dispense anything you want and write what ever you want to try n fool me.... how would i know ? Well, lets see... when the one thing that works suddenly doesnt even help u a tiny bit and suddenly gives you the scariest reaction that you have with the one you tell them your allergic too, im pretty sure you know. After 29 years... you know. Very rude staff... very very rude, thats a whole other story.

Shout out to all the doctors and nurses at the Markdale hospital. The care and compassion that the staff give to their patients is wonderful. They took me in right away and made sure every test was given to find out what was wrong with me. They even transported me by ambulance up to Owen Sound to find out the cause of my pain. They kept me comfortable and relaxed. They saved my life. I can't thank the doctors and nurses enough for the care they gave me. They saved my life. Thank you so much.

I have been sick for 7 days, I waited 4 hours to be seen (that’s no problem I anticipate at least 3 because it’s emergency and I’m not an emergency case) but I don’t have a doctor and there are no local walk ins. I also have no wifi and limited reception at home so I can not always do online or virtual appointments.

I am in need of antibiotics so I can get on track to return to work. After a quick chat once finally seeing the doctor and a chest xray they had nothing more to say other than be sure I’m taking my vitamins.. (and I do) I knew this would be the case but everyone encouraged me to go see a doctor. I left very upset and so disappointed to be right back where I was. I was at least lucky to see the doctor who had appropriate footwear on - the other emerg doctor wearing flip flops makes me very uncomfortable (Seems to be normal for him tho)

Hate to be negative as there are a lot of friendly faces and kind people I dealt with here. I just don’t know how to get help if I can not get help from a doctor.
