I would not recommend this clinic for the following reasons:

- The clinic opens at 9am but I was told (as the second person in line) that the doctor wouldn't arrive until 9:20am. He arrived at 9:45. From the other reviews I can see that this is a recurring problem.
- Not necessarily their fault but also important to note- there is very little privacy in the waiting room. It's small, silent, with seating right beside the reception so quite literally everyone will hear you announce why you are there.
- The doctor was very kind but rushed; I had to quite literally call him back as he was walking out of the examination room to ask whether or not I was contagious (I was! that's important information to tell a patient!) and what exactly this suspected infection of mine meant
- I also had to ask to preemptively get a prescription for antibiotics in case I tested positive for an infection and thank god I did. Luckily I had a MyHealth Alberta account so I was able to view my own results online and took the initiative to flll my prescription, because the clinic did not call until FOUR days later to inform me my results were in and to come back to the clinic. I told them I already looked at the results (four days ago!) and filled my prescription, and asked if there was any other reason I needed to come back in. The receptionist told me she would call me back. It's been 2 weeks. I think its safe to say she is not calling back.

When it comes to your physical health, things like not calling back, being late to report test results, and not properly explaining the diagnosis are unacceptable. Don't go here. The negligence is not worth risking your well being.

After shopping for a new family doctor for a few years, I was delighted to find Dr. Ishfaq. Not only does he come in on Sundays, he is professional and has a calm demeanor. He won't just give you any medication if you ask for it, and I also respect that.

I'd give him a 5 star rating, but I find it sometimes very difficult to get through on the phone to book appointments. The receptionists aren't good at managing calls.

Came as a walk in with a stomach issue on a Tuesday morning. Was in and out in 45 mins, had probably been 7 or more years since I had last been as I have lived elsewhere. Terrific and friendly doctor, and staff. One of the best experiences at a walk in clinic in Canada in the last five years, for sure.

Never have i ever had to pay for a doctors note for a WCB claim. Pretty sure especially for WCB they legally have to give me a note for my employer to know my injury restrictions. Reception was absolutely no help. Waste of time because nothing was done correctly. No one answers the phone either, even though the receptionist is always on the phone but clearly not for the clinic

It’s truly baffling how management continues to turn a blind eye to the consistent, unprofessional behavior of the receptionist, which has been reported repeatedly in reviews. I’ve called multiple times on various days to schedule an appointment, and each time, the receptionist never answers nor calls me back. While I understand that they may be understaffed or busy, the sheer improbability of this happening every single time I try to reach them is very low. To make matters worse, their website linked through Google is completely incorrect. When you try to access the correct site via the main Medicare walk-in page for other locations, this particular clinic is the only one with a broken link. So, to recap: you can’t book an appointment by phone or through their website. How exactly are you supposed to make an appointment? The inefficiency at this clinic is astounding. It’s such a shame, because the doctors themselves are excellent, but this clinic is being run with complete disregard for customer service or basic functionality.

The clinic was supposed to open at 9 AM this morning and the receptionist didn’t get to the clinic until almost 930. She said it was due to an accident with the train but instead of getting the clinic open quickly and checking in patience she pulled out her phone and was showing us photos of the accident, which I think is incredibly unprofessional. When she finally got us in and checked in, we asked how long it would be to see the doctor and she informed us that he lives nearby so the doctor wasn’t even in the building when the clinic finally opened. He did not walk in the front doors of the building until 9:45am Which is insane and so unprofessional. If I could leave less than one star, I definitely would and I will never be coming back to this clinic nor will anyone I know.

In the recent days there were a ton of news in the media regarding the Medical services and condition of our Healthcare in Calgary/Alberta. I wanted to say 1st... give our practicing Physicians and medical professionals more MONEY. We need them! That being said, I wanted to highlight the great team of MediCare Walk-in Clinic in the Westhills Shopping area. Dr. Khalid Ishfaq and his team are wonderful, caring and thoughtful. They take the time to treat each patient with respect and due care that is needed. I love the time he sets aside to truly understand what's the issue and what are my specific concerns are. He thoughtfully explains to me in simple language what I need to know. He recommends alternatives where appropriate. This Doctor cares about his patients he treats. Knowing this clinic is open 7 days a week treating its existing patients and welcomes walk-ins as they understand how hard it is to find a dedicated Doctor for themselves. So, people stop complaining about the wait times. Name one doctor's office that you don't have a wait. Besides, how would you feel if your doctor rushed through your appts instead of spending the needed time with you. The MediCare staff are kind and patient with everyone who visits, people should consider treating then with the same respect also. I should also mention that the location is awesome with plenty of parking and supportive services like the 2 pharmacies, Canada Diagnostic Centre, Dental office, etc... and tons of places to eat or grab a coffee while you wait you turn.
All my visits there have been fantastic!
Thank you Dr. Khalid Ishfaq and Team!

Pro Tip: next time you are there asked to be invited for the AVA Connect system. On this APP you can create a profile and book appts. Thus reducing your wait time.

I went on Medicare Walk-in Clinic's website on December 30th. I have a terrible cold that has lasted for 10 days. I picked up some bug our holiday trip. Upon my return the website indicated they were open this week. To my surprise and disappointment there was a sign taped to their window. Saying they will reopen January 8th 2025. I don't begrudge people having holidays but be at least professional and UDPDATE YOU WEBSITE. That way people don't have to travel in for nothing. Not impressed.
