Why people don't shop more at thrift stores I'll never know. It's as if people would rather spend 10 times more money buying "new," than buying the same item almost new for much less.

(It's no wonder so many people are financially stressed.)

The Mission Thrift Store (Cobourg) is by far the cleanest thrift store I've ever experienced. There's no junk. All items are well displayed to the extent you feel as if you're shopping in a big chain retail store, the exception being the prices are significantly lower.

This holiday season instead of buying new, shop at Mission Thrift Store, not only will you be saving money, which you can donate to a local foodbank, you'll be keeping "stuff" out of our landfills.

A beautifully organized, clean, well run shop, and love that it benefits others so much. We did find prices to be very high on some things but very reasonable on others. I would probably give it a 4.5 out of 5 with that in mind, but it's such a nice place with friendly staff that I'll go for the full 5.

Used to be really good, but recently charging insane prices. Currently stocking two sets of dishes at $500.00 and another at $999.00. What an insane pricing strategy for goods received at no cost.

One of the better Mission thrift stores East of Toronto. Prices compared to stores closer to the big city are pretty fair. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be tight when busy.

I wanted to speak about an experience I had:

One afternoon last week I entered the store and shopped around until I realized I needed a cart. when I went to the front of the store and placed the items in the cart one of the cashiers told me I couldn't have my laptop bag in the store and that I would have to leave it with her. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see there was a 'no bags' sticker notice on the door." I replied to her. She said there was and went to go check herself. When she returned she mumbled that someone must have taken it down and that I would still need to leave my bag with her. I did so without arguing.

I suppose next time I will skip a visit if I have work equipment with me. I don't feel super comfortable leaving my stuff with a stranger.

Also, I find extremely rude that I was picked out of a crowd as someone who could potentially steal just because I have a laptop bag hanging off of my shoulder meanwhile older ladies can walk around with large purses without issue.

I bought a couch and loveseat a few years ago. I got a great deal and they have new inventory that comes in on a daily basis. I found the staff really friendly and the store has many everyday useful items for the home at very reasonable prices. Take a look and lm sure you will enjoy your browsing experience. If possible, get your vaccine or Booster, and let's protect each other. 🇨🇦 🍁

Spoke with staff, was told the items on display are not for sale yet but to return at the start of the month when they will change the display. Returned and they refuse to sell to me as they want to keep the display up longer, silly to refuse a sale multiple times, terrible service.

I'm not sure what happened, but the store had more life and heart, it seems, before the upgrades. Prices are higher than expected at times. I've had lovely interaction with staff and appreciate their hard work but the kind vibe of the store is pretty much gone in my opinion.
