This is why they have mold this is the size of the rats The have and proof of every review on here I was maintenance at this place I called And reported Debbie Haigh for selling donated furniture she's says the money goes back into the business but who keeps track of that oh that's right she does I have text after text asking me to go get this to sell and that who's keeping track of what's donated and not who's keeping track of if it's actually donated or if it just came out of somebody's room not all the residents there would even know if something went missing from their room everything sold should be completely accounted for and should be able to be pulled up at any moment of who the item came from and what you sold it for but here's proof to show you that every review on here is not just an upset person its fact here is everything I can prove with texts pictures and videos there's a lot more but I don't have a proof for that stuff so I'm only going to tell you about the stuff I can prove so she doesn't sue me or I should say successfully sue because she's probably going to try anyways so
1. The basement has been flooded like that for at least 3 years I told her at least three times that she needs to fix it

2. The black mold is so bad in the basement you don't need a mold detector you just go in and take a smell

3. The elevator on the one end of the building stinks like sewage and I mean raw sewage because of the massive flood that she refuses to fix

4. The rat in that picture is the biggest rat I've ever seen in my life it was like a pound and a half and my God are they everywhere in there

5. Debbie is selling donated furniture so many residents have flimsy pressboard dressers and when someone donates one of those really nice thick wooden dressers that would last a hundred years she promptly removes it and sells it

6. She had me go into residence rooms and remove items that she claimed were hers with the only proof being her word sadly and disgustingly I followed her orders and I'm disgusting in myself for doing it

7. Staff get in trouble for talking to residents so if you're family member tells you that staff are being disrespectful no they're being forced to be disrespectful

And like I said I have hundreds more things but these are the ones that I can prove with text pictures and video

If I could rate 0 stars! Do not send your loved one here! This place should be shut down! Please pay close attention to your loved one . Look for any signs of abuse . You always think this could not happen to my family member… Even when you try to get your family member out of the hell hole they will try and make your life hell! Quote from a former employee. I would not take my dead dog there! Please people read the reviews believe the ones saying get your loved ones out of here! May the good Lord watch over All the clients in this Dark evil place . It’s time for the workers here to step up and tell the truth about this home . No job is worth seeing and knowing the truth of what’s going on here!

This place is horrible and played a part in my parent's demise. The Executive Director is horrible and outright abusive. They need to be shut down and a full investigation into the establishment and the executive director.

I find it almost laughable that they reply to only the good Comments I had a family member work there. And of course, like all the other people that have worked there in the last year was treated extremely badly. There is black Mold everywhere in that building. Why is no one doing anything about this? Why is this allowed to go on? Are we seriously that complacent after COVID? That we're just going to allow a 100 elderly. People live in a place that is probably killing them. Almost definitely affecting their health, which is already compromised due to age. Management really needs to be dealt with. It's an ongoing problem and honestly. I hope this place gets sued 1 day because that's what they deserve. She is sneaky conniving a full-blown narcissist. But I guess that's just the world we live in now. Where people are allowed to do whatever they want and bad people always.

This home does not deserve any stars... Horrible conditions that high risk seniors are living in under the direction of Debbie Haigh. The home is locked up tighter then a prison... Rules change constantly.. The food is below standard... The residents are scared, and emotionally abused... The Regulatory body is aware and fines have been placed on the home but she continues to do the same over and over....These seniors need a voice,,, she needs to be removed before more harm can be done.
She has been warned too many times......I wouldn't leave my goldfish here....

They need to clean there lovely deck out back,it is the dirtiest ,stinkiest place I have seen. I now no why there are always open spots, because people figure out how bad it is and leave.The person so called running it hired family and they are all very sneaky and rude.i visited there a couple weeks ago ,the same can of pop is still sitting there and the lawn furniture is just thrown under the gazebo ,outside table hasn't been wiped either. They may be short staffed but people pay the same money every month so they should still get the proper care. I could go on and on but it's not worth it ,please don't send your loved ones there. It and the people are nasty....... .

Muskoka Hills barred my mother from wishing her father and mother (my grandparents) goodbye as he was being moved out of the retirement home to another location. Our family caused no problems while visiting over the course of the few weeks they were there. We were welcome one day and my mother and uncle were told (harshly as if they were troublemakers) to leave the next. Staff attitudes and service varied greatly - so to all staff who made us feel welcome - thank you so much.
I cannot give the retirement home a good rating however. My grandparents are no longer at Muskoka Hills and unfortunately are further away - long story. I do think that this place has potential but they are giving two different messages with how they treat families of residents. I tried to connect with them by email after this had died down, but I admit I may have done this too late. I have not heard back from them yet. I hope their service improves.
