The folks here work hard to make sure they get everyone done as fast as they can. They technically don't open until 7am, but most times they open the doors 15-20min early to start getting people through. Staff are always professional and friendly enough. To those that make comments about them being "rude" or saying they just "stand around", don't mistake directness for rudeness, these folks have to process a lot of people through in the run of a day, and don't always have time for small talk. As for the "standing around", every working person needs and is entitled to take a break. Sometimes that break is just taking their entitled 15mins to chat with a co-worker that is also on break and try to unwind ever so slightly from the craziness that is the blood collection clinic. Maybe cut them a little slack.

I was at the blood clinic the other day, and was very impressed with how helpful Kathryn was with assisting me and helping me work the kiosk, and getting my pull tab ready for my blood work. She was very friendly, and helpful towards the other patients as well, The blood clinic is very lucky to have such a kind caring hard working employee on their team..

I was here nearly 2 hours to get blood drawn. Despite arriving on time, I waited an hour to be called back to get my blood drawn, and was then told I needed to wait longer because the type of test that was ordered required special timing with whoever collects the samples. Between fasting for over 12 hours before I arrived, being an insulin dependent diabetic, and needing labs to diagnose my anemia, I was in pretty bad shape by the time I was seen.

The phlebotomist who saw me was preoccupied with a family situation and clearly needed a break. I warned her that I was a difficult stick as there were at least 10 vials of blood to collect. Unfortunately, she jabbed me twice without drawing a drop of blood and was about to try a third time before asking the only other phlebotomist available for assistance. I was then jabbed 2 more times before my blood was actually drawn.

I gave 2 stars because I saw the employees working were doing their very best, and I could tell they were experienced and good at their jobs. But the facility was severely overbooked and understaffed. There were dozens of people waiting, and only 2 phlebotomists on staff. The one who failed to draw my blood tried her very best, but clearly needed a break to collect her thoughts, and there was no one to relieve her. And more people backed up in the waiting room as both phlebotomists were preoccupied with my blood draw.

I'm a bit perplexed by this operation. Mid afternoon and just myself and another gentleman there waiting more then 10 minutes for the number counter to change. A peek around the corner reveals 2 reception staff having a good ole non work related chat. After being discovered they asked what numbers we had. (the next two in sequence of course). At this point there was no please or thank you just a "why are you bothering me ? " attitude. Shuttled around the corner the dark haired collectionist was reluctant to answer questions and did the most painful needle insertion I've ever had done over the years. Again any semblance of apology, please or thank you was absent. I think we might be getting a ground floor reference as to what's wrong with our health care in this province as lack or manners and complacency abound.

Had to go in for some bloodwork and had my daughter with me , all the staff were amazing as to explaining all of the questions her young mind had. The nurse even gave my daughter a cute little finger puppet . Was very quick getting in and out.

I had the same experience of the previous poster. Between 7 am and 11 am, the clinic had processed only 24 patients and over 60 were waiting. There was standing room only and it was very discouraging to see the workers abandoning their work and standing around chatting and joking while people waited for hours. Thank God for Mediclin.

You can book appointment online and have your registration number sent via email ready with you, doing much better than before

Wait time was ridiculous. Lady who was ahead of me was finished and went to bathroom afterwards. I didn't get in until half hour later. Thought they left for a lunch break.
