Was excited to come here based on the reviews. When traveling I love to visit and support small local businesses, and this one was adorable. We were there in a Saturday in early afternoon. You can see into the work area, though no work was being done that day. There was 4 types of salt available. When I entered the small shop, I was the only one there. The staff member didn’t greet me. They didn’t share info about their salts, they didn’t offer samples. They just continued to stare at their screen. I decided to pick a container of the fleur de sel (my husbands the chef and that’s his go to salt). She took it, scanned it, saw my card and turned iPad terminal to tap and pay, and then handed me the paper bag. At no point did she speak to me. I said thank you and left. Honestly, I was a little shocked at how little interaction, warmth, and general customer service I received - especially given I was the only one there! I’m not sure she said more than 2-3 words the entire time - and even then - not until after I paid! I really wanted to give a 5 star review - but it definitely wasn’t a 5 star experience. But everyone is allowed to have off days - hopefully this was more of an exception than the rule. It wouldn’t prevent t me from recommending their product - just maybe just a reminder to staff to be a little more warm and welcoming to customers.

So happy I popped in here to purchase some unique Newfoundland salt handmade by Peter and Robin . They kindly explained the process and some of their adventures in establishing their great product as well as salt pairing suggestions. As well as a great selection of salts well presented, we purchased maple syrup infused with rum, (bourbon or whiskey were also available), and some salted caramels. Can’t wait to try the coffee salt especially in my baking adventures! Grab a unique gift from Newfoundland that is elegant and thoughtful for the foodie in your family.

I've only had the experience of shopping online, but it was flawless. I reached out by email as the online shop was out of stock and received a prompt reply telling me to try again and the new stock was added. I've made two order over the last month and will order again. Congrats on a very fine product.

Very cute shop. The retail area is very well decorated and welcoming. There are windows from the retail area looking in on the production area which is a really nice touch.
Great product, too! Their gift sets are well thought-out, and they have cute tote bags and prints as well.

Creative and local! Sea salt flavours include Juniper-smoked, Green Alder, Seaweed and Coffee (using coffee from the Bonavista Coffee Company). Also carries local Bonavista honey and a few other Maritime-sourced products - including this maple syrup from a female indigenous-owned company in New Brunswick!

During our 3 week tour of wonderful Newfoundland a visit to this store was the only rude, unwelcoming and unpleasant moment we experienced. Never visiting this shop again- in person or online.

Picked up the green alder sea salt when visiting Newfoundland a year ago and it’s some of the best, most unique finishing salt I’ve found anywhere. I’m going to place a big order of all their salts as soon as everything is back in stock.

Nice little shop which manufactures lovely salts. Selection of flaky salts, smoked, etc. The staff were super friendly and let us sample some salts and explained their methods of foraging and processing the sea water. Great spot.
