What a nightmare. We had heard good things about Payless kitchen from neighbors, who dealt with Bob. We had the misfortune of dealing with James. The process started with us going into the show room, with a rough sketch, of our current layout. From there we picked EVERYTHING. From cabinets to counter tops, colours to hardware. Next was an in home visit for measurements and ideas. The $250 fee was expected during that time with no real explanation to what that cost was for. We thought at the very least we would get a design drawing. That home visit was long and drawn out, as our current kitchen layout is unique and we have a very large menonite kitchen table. To one point even James said he was running dry on ideas. If you are asking me to spend upto and/or over 50 thousand dollars on a "custom" kitchen, you should bring your A game ... everytime. We paid $250 (cash) for a design that we were told would take about a week. Two weeks later we hear from James. By this point we've had our fill and asked for the design to be sent to us .. we paid for them. This is where James decided to coward behind a company policy that was not mentioned, is not displayed or on their website, that we don't even get to have a copy of our $250 design unless we sign a contract to have Payless do our renovation. So now, we've paid $250 and still have not received a complete service. We are asking for our designs, to do with them as we please or refund me for an incomplete service provided. I would never recommend Payless Kitchens to anyone, unless you have extra time to waste and money to burn. Honestly, poor business practices. Slow on responding to emails. Again, you are asking your customers to pay top dollar for a "custom" kitchen but can't even provide appropriate customer service.
I'd give less then 1 star if it was an option. I expected so much more, what a huge disappointment.

Response: I wish I could respond to your message. The final idea to the layout was one that I suggested, not you. Quite frankly, after reading your response I can see how you have delfected the whole thing back on us. Proving your poor business sense.

We had been dreaming of what our new kitchen would look like for some time. We were apprehensive to take on a renovation having never done one. One of the biggest decisions is deciding on who to trust. This is where the Pay Less Kitchen team comes in. I had read great reviews and saw amazing pictures but after booking an appointment and meeting with Bob, Katherine, James and Jesse I knew we had found our match. From our first meeting with Bob we felt confidence in him with his many years experience in the business. Not to mention his attention to detail in designing as well as his organizational skills in the planning and coordinating of the project. He said on time and on budget and he kept his word. His scheduling gives you a clear and concise picture of what is going to happen and when, with very little deviation if any from his schedule. This is comforting knowing he does what he says he will do and there are no surprises. This was a big fear going into the renovation and his command of the project from beginning to end put us at ease. Katherine his wife and project liaison kept us informed with reminders as well as communicating between all parties to keep everything running smoothly. I can't express enough what a pleasure it was to work with James and Jesse. They were always polite, professional ,extremely hard working and passionate with skills that defy their age. We were in awe of their craftmanship-truly impressive work. Great family team, we highly recommend!

We also paid the $250 for the kitchen design and feel it was one of the best decisions we made about our new kitchen. Without Bob's advice we would have made some expensive mistakes in laying out our kitchen. He really knows his stuff, no fancy CAD just a very understandable and workable to-scale drawing. Katherine ensured everything was ordered correctly and came in on schedule. The cabinets are so well made and beautiful. We love our new kitchen and we would not hesitate to recommend Payless to anyone looking for a quality kitchen.

We are half way through our install. So far we exactly on schedule. I have to give credit to their installation team, the prep was done extremely precisely to the plan and everything looks great already.

Pretty much done now. All I can say is that you won't be disappointed. The skill and level of quality are unbelievable.

Extremely happy with Payless Kitchens. The quality and craftsmanship of our remodel is unbelievable. The entire process was seamless. We knew exactly what to expect, and the Reno was finished on time. James and Jess were an absolute pleasure to deal with. They kept us up to date on everything, so there was no "hidden surprises" like some other contractors we have dealt with. I would absolutely use them again, and have recommended Payless Kitchens to friends and family.

We love our new kitchen! The team of James & Jesse were efficient & hard working. They were sensitive to our needs as we lived through the renovation and every day garbage & recycle was removed & the work area left tidy. We were given an agenda prior to the start date with the work progress we could expect each week & it remained on schedule the entire time. The final result was more than we anticipated. My wife and I selected Pay Less Kitchen for our renovation in November/December 2016 after meeting with 3 or 4 other contractors. We found the team at Pay Less to be extremely professional and knowledgeable. The layout and plans were designed by Bob and I still recall his enthusiasm as the layout just fit "perfectly" in our space.

James began our renovation in November 2016 and arrived on time and began work immediately. Our renovation included a full gut of our existing builder kitchen, replace the flooring, add pot-lights, move electrical, stove, and fridge and install a large island.

All aspects of the renovation were extremely well choreographed. Pay less had templates, jigs and all the correct tools to get the job done with extreme precision. I honestly have to say that I am a bit "anal" when it comes to things lining up and at no point was I ever concerned that things were not being done to my standards.

James was an absolute dream to have in our home. At no time did I feel uncomfortable with leaving him my home while we went to work.

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the final results of our kitchen renovation that finished on time (23rd of December) and on budget.

I would (and have) recommended Pay Less for your kitchen renovations, you will not be disappointed.

Beginning with their first contact, we were impressed that this company listened carefully to our ideas. They clarified and communicated consistently prior to the contract and through all phases of the work. Bob's planning calendar established the start date; the weeks the crew would be on site and when the project would be finished. The crew worked six days each week when they were scheduled. The project started on time and ended exactly when they planned even though we requested additional work within the project. The materials from Quebec arrived during the week they were scheduled. The painting was applied effectively and we are very happy with the applications. The finished kitchen and bathroom are exactly as described in our planning session and we are tremendously SATISFIED with all aspects of this project. Suggestions were gathered by the crew when a challenge emerged and a solution was developed that made the result just wonderful. The company provided gentle reminder emails when a payment date was approaching; telephone inquiries were responded to within 24 hours. This company followed through on all of their commitments in a timely and professional manner. To help us choose colours, tiles and bathroom/kitchen hardware, Jess arranged a date to do planning and shopping months in advance of the project's start date; this was a very pleasant day with minimal stress and we are very pleased that this was a service that was offered. The crew cleaned up every day and garbage was removed promptly. We will recommend this company for any kitchen or bathroom renovation 100%!!!
