Not impressed with Dr. Apel at all. I requested a phone appointment as I can't afford to drive to Calgary, and I've re-scheduled this one appointment 3 times, just to go over results. I was told I had to come in for more testing. I get there today and she asks me why I'm here. I said I was told to come in by your receptionist. There was no testing and she said I was fine. No history of seizures on my results even though I've had over 30 in my time as a type 1 diabetic. There needs to be consequences for doctors that waste peoples time and money. This is not acceptable! A person waits years to see a specialist, then this?! Are you kidding me?! Thank you for wasting $100 from my pocket, I would have loved to put that in my belly instead! Disgusting.

I am extremely dissatisfied that, following a prompt response to this review, my email (as suggested in their response) requesting an after-hours clinic referral for my son, sent six days ago, remains unanswered, which is completely unacceptable.

Worst clinic. Did not send a referral for over a year for my son when I assumed we were already on a wait list. Then tried to claim it was my fault because they were waiting to see my son again. Even though I had followed up 4 times and spoke to the clinic manager twice, I was never told this. Clearly I would have made an appointment for him the first time I called had this been communicated. Finally told it was not in his chart. Why was I not told that the first time I followed up? Why did it take another 6 months and 3 more calls to realize? Seems to me it was their mistake and they did not want to admit so told some lies. They make phone appointments and then say to come in, likely to double charge the government. It’s sickening it’s about money and not medical care. We fell through the cracks even while advocating. Time to live on and find a better clinic.

Dr. Gaunt is excellent. He really listens, follows up and is easy to talk to about concerns. I’ve never felt uncomfortable discussing my medical history with him. His approach is real, compassionate and respectful. As with the other comments, reception can be a bit snippy and condescending, but I won’t rate lower based on that, they’re a blip in the grand scheme of things.

Dr. Gaunt has been mine and my daughter’s family physician for 4 years now and he has been absolutely incredible to deal with. He is so knowledgeable, professional, and always steers me in the right direction when it comes to treatment. I feel beyond comfortable when I am in his presence (even with the most sensitive health concerns); and, more importantly, he also makes my 10-year-old feel safe and comfortable when we visit his office.

I cannot put it into words how happy I am to have found him through a recommendation of a friend. The LPN’s at this clinic are also both amazing, as well as most of the reception staff. Thank you all very much <3

Have been calling since Dec 20, but only got automatic messages that the office is closed during holiday season. However google shows the office is open on Dec 20/23 and 27! Why nobody picked up the phone?

The clinic staff are always helpful. Our physician, Dr. Gaunt, has been fantastic with our toddler, she’s much more comfortable visiting the doctor when she knows she’s visiting someone who takes time to explain and answer her questions. Dr. Gaunt is knowledgeable, professional and thoughtful. We’re lucky to have this clinic as our family doctor office.

Dr. Guant is extremely professional and has been my primary health care representative for several years now. I would recommend him to any one.

The only reason that a star has been taken away is annoyance surrounding the requirement for in clinic visits, especially for ongoing treatments or regular prescriptions. I can’t stand having to take an hour or more out of my day for a 10 minute appointment that could have been a phone call, it’s just not necessary.

This is my first visit to Peak Medical. I am highly impressed by the care & attention provided by Celine for booking the appointment through to seeing Dr Apel. All the staff are very helpful and go above & beyond to help their patients.
Way to go Team!!!
