I recently took my family, including our five-year-old daughter, to get a flu shot at the Rexall next to this clinic. Unfortunately, the receptionist at this clinic displayed some of the rudest, most insensitive behavior I’ve ever experienced, especially toward a young child.

Our daughter was understandably afraid of getting her flu shot, and she was in tears afterward—normal for a young child who’s just had a needle. But the receptionist took it upon herself to lecture our daughter directly, telling her to stop crying. When my husband calmly reminded her that our child was just five years old and had just been through a difficult experience, she curtly responded that our daughter’s crying was “disturbing other patients.” This would have been a reasonable point if there were actually other patients around, but the clinic was completely empty! Not a single person had walked through the doors the entire time we’d been there, and every room was vacant. Yet she continued with her dismissive attitude, insisting there were “patients in the rooms.”

The complete lack of empathy and the blatant disrespect shown by this receptionist were appalling. I would strongly recommend that no parent bring their children here, given how poorly this staff member handled a simple situation. This is not the environment you want for children—especially if they’re already anxious or scared about a medical appointment. I hope this clinic takes a serious look at the attitude of the staff member at the front desk, as her unprofessional behaviour is certainly no way to treat patients, young or old.

Thank you for your response. I’d like to clarify a few points, as there seems to be some misunderstanding.

While it’s true that we were at the Rexall pharmacy, the receptionist involved in the incident was associated with your clinic, and it was her behaviour that I was addressing in my review. My concern is not about the location but about how my young daughter was treated during a simple medical procedure. I would have appreciated a more empathetic approach, especially considering my daughter’s fear of needles and her emotional response.

Regarding your comment about my review being inaccurate, I can assure you that my description reflects the events as they occurred from my perspective. My 5 year old was understandably upset, and her crying was a normal response to the situation. The receptionist’s decision to directly scold her only caused further distress. If there were concerns, it would have been more appropriate for the receptionist to speak with me directly rather than address my child in a manner that added to her anxiety.

Additionally, I was disappointed to read your comment about “weaponizing” reviews. I cannot control the actions of others, but they were understandably upset after hearing what had happened. I’ve since asked them to remove them. My goal has always been to raise awareness and encourage a better understanding of how children should be treated in these environments.

I also want to bring up that I noticed a response from someone named “Carol Thompson”, who commented on my review. As you clarified in your response, we were at Rexall, not your clinic, and Carol has stated she is an employee at Rexall, not your clinic. Given this, I hope you bring the same level of attention and professionalism to her response as you have to mine. Carol, as an employee of Rexall, had no business disparaging my child in any way. In fact, I believe she is likely the receptionist involved in this situation.

I do not require any further action or response from you, but I hope this feedback encourages a review of your staff’s training on how to handle sensitive situations involving children. Empathy should be at the core of all patient interactions, and I trust this will be reflected in your future practices.

Overall very positive experience at this clinic. Able to get an appointment in an emergency without hospital emergency room wait. The reception desk personnel works efficiently and Dr Brodzik is very knowledgeable. This clinic takes the walk in clinic experience to another level. Highly recommend it to anyone living in Oakville.

Best walk in clinic I have been to! After calling my family Dr for an appointment and being informed I would have to wait until mid August, I decided to call Infinity health. Not only did I get an appointment within an hour I was also given a referral to a skin Dr who could see me the next week.This is my second visit to the Oakville location. The care is friendly, quick and informative and would highly recommend!

I have been with infinity for a year. The staff are helpful, patient and professional. The environment is tidy and clean. It is located in Rexall which makes us very handy to get the prescriptions and everything. The most important part is that the receptionist answers the call very fast. We got to see the doctor quickly every time we had something. Special thanks to Dr. Brodzik and Yang.

I had a disappointing experience at this clinic. The receptionist was consistently unhelpful and rude, making it difficult to get the assistance I needed. Additionally, the fees for additional services were significantly higher compared to other clinics I've visited. The lack of professionalism at the front desk and the exorbitant charges make it hard to recommend this clinic to others. I hope they address these issues to improve the overall patient experience.

Fast service by the front desk and the assistant, however doctor is not too friendly to patient seems like the doctor is not having a good day at the clinic. Or just not a happy doctor who enjoy being able to help patients.

The location in Oakville is an amazing one stop shop for various healthcare needs. My family doctor is there and Dr. Paul is great. Practical and takes a holistic approach to my care. He guided me to the psychotherapist, Vasundhara, to manage through some anxiety and other issues I was having and the results were wonderful. Highly recommend both.
