I love my doctor there but the office administration is another story entirely. (Sorry- but I feel I need to be honest.) Abrupt, often rude and fail to followup on what they say they will do. I have been waiting 2 months for a promised medical referral... crickets. I received an e-mail telling me a receipt was attached (I had to pay to get a prescription renewal because it takes so long to get an appt that my prescription will run out a month before I can see a Dr. there and they were supposed to send me a receipt for the payment) but... no attachment. You cannot e-mail them to let them know because they don't take incoming e-mail. Instead, you gotta get in the horrible phone queue again (limited hours for them to answer the phone of course), suffer through a snarky outgoing message and sit and spin on hold. It is frustrating beyond belief. So sad because this medical office used to be so efficient and pleasant. I now dread calling to make an appt. and often just don't bother to get medical care when I need it because it is too stressful to deal with their admin system.

This rating is given ONLY because of the front staff (one person) who is extremely rude and disgusting to deal with, if there was someone in her place this whole place would be a 5 star because of the fantastic doctors and nurses.

The customer service given by the ONLY person you can interact with over the phone is extremely poor. She is always in a horrible mood, aggressive, and mean. She constantly tells me that because my children have referrals I have to follow up with those drs, and doesn’t allow me to book with our family doctor. I constantly have to remind her that I do not want to argue and that I am simply trying to get help for my kids.

Our family Dr is away for over a month, I asked who would be replacing him while he was away and no response. I am told that because my children have been referred it is no longer in the doctors hands, which is untrue. They still have to be followed up by their family doctor.

She suggested that I book an appointment for EVERY problem vs bringing them all up in 1 appointment. (I wouldn’t have to bring them all up if the referrals were sent the first time). So I mentioned I would like to book 4 appointments. She proceeded to tell me “well you have to wait on hold now as I have to clear up the line” I asked how is that fair? When I’ve already waited 15 minutes on hold… she proceeded to insist that I had to wait, and I said no, I’ve been waiting. She started raising her voice, saying you’re going to let me finish what I’m going to say and be extremely rude. She then loudly said “ this conversation is working you can’t be harassing and disrespecting staff” and hung up on me.

She is always so disrespectful, and I am 100% certain most patients here feel this way. This kind of distressed is not needed for parents who are already stressed enough.

We are however happy with our dr when we can get through to him, even though she makes it a complete nightmare.

Very unprofessional, negligent with the paperwork. They didn't give us a proper receipt for the vaccine, saying that their machine was broken. Consequently, our insurance provider is refusing to pay the claim. Despite multiple attempts over past 3 months to explain our issue to the West Travel Medicine Clinic staff both over the phone and in person, they're unable to help and are refusing to provide a proper receipt.

Claim is not paid still.

Client for over a decade. Doctor will routinely miss appointments (call and in person), staff will hang up while your waiting. May end up waiting months on Dr's missed appointment. Then when you see the doctor for the first time in 2 years told that people like you are why the system is slow and that's the reason you can't get an x-ray for both your hand and your foot you broke... at least not on the same appointment.

The best travel clinic I've ever been to!

I am a well seasoned traveller to high-risk areas. This team was professional, knowledgeable, and more than willing to work with me to address my unique needs. Honest advice, no upselling, lots of great recommendations, and the staff were super accessible from the reception to the travel nurse and the doctor. Would definitely recommend for families looking for kind staff and good advice!

They way overcharge for injections.

Both in pricing them much higher than the customary fee your insurance will pay and in not offering generics so you get reimbursed for the genetic and not their extra inflated brand name.

Very disappointed.

I made an appointment for the travel medicine clinic, as I wanted to update my immunizations.

The staff were excellent, right from making my booking. Everyone I dealt with was genuine and friendly and competent. I can't say enough about the travel nurse. She was extremely well traveled, highly knowledgeable, up to date on all kinds of world medical issues, and full of great advice. I've traveled a lot myself, and I usually find my knowledge to be quite good - she far exceeded my expectations, and was clearly more experienced traveler too. Also, I got four injections, and they were so quickly done that I barely had time to feel them

If you're travelling, particularly off the beaten path (in my case Ethiopia!), I can't recommend this travel medical clinic enough.

Have had wonderful experience here multiple times, whether it was to get vaccine or medical travel advise. Tanja is the best. Clinic is professional, punctual and has excellent bedside manner.
