Where do I start? I had a good experience with these guys years ago when I moved into my house but ever since then, it has been a nightmare.

I have a 9 year old furnace, which is in great shape and a very efficient, reliable model. Well, I believe it was 2020 when my furnace would consistently lock out and not allow any airflow into the house. I changed the filters, I would have my panel inspected, the wiring inspected up to the furnace, thermostat switched out, etc.

I had 3 different techs come to my house and look at the furnace with each saying it was my problem and the problem was the panel, or the wiring outside the panel, just a glitch, etc. Never did one of them actually do anything to help. Finally, one tech said to ask for him if this happens again as he was involved and understood what the issue could be. The moment he left, the furnace shut down again and I tired calling reliance to get the same guy back, which I was getting flak for. Luckily the same guy came back and it turned out the entire motherboard had to be replaced. How do 3 other guys miss this.

Recently my furnace had stopped working again. This is the reason for my review. Someone came out last week and looked at it. Once again, all they did was open the panel on the furnace, check some voltages, and disconnected one set of wires. Proceeded to tell me "I don't see any issue. Must have been something in your electrical panel".

So last night it happened again but I reset my furnace and got it working. This is a joke. Your telling me that someone who went to school for this is basically shutting my furnace on and off again and saying its fixed is worth my time or money? Someone who works for a large company such as reliance. And I don't necessarily blame the tech. as this has to be policy there that they need to do anything but actually fix stuff.

Thankfully its working now but I can say I am going to be asking them about this.

The most horrid, awful experience I have ever had with a company. Some idiot they subcontracted came out when my furnace wasn’t working and told me that there was something wrong with the heat exchanger and being in a crawl space it’s hard to replace so I should just buy a new furnace even though mine is only 7 years old. When asked if he was employed by Reliance, he kept dodging the question and eventually we got out of him that he was just sub contracted. Was truly very weird. Another guy, Tom, came out this morning from reliance and agreed with the previous guy that we should just buy a new one and went on to criticize our current furnace and said it wasn’t up to code. He ended up using scare tactics and pushing a new rental furnace on us saying it would take 6+ weeks for a new part and that it would be very expensive. We had another company out a few hours later and they had our furnace fixed in 30 mins. Nothing wrong with heat exchanger and completely up to code. A complete and utter waste of time. I feel so bad for those who don’t know better and are fooled by their scare tactics. These guys are slimy and I would avoid at all costs. I am appalled.

Don't buy furnaces from reliance. Break in one year and they have a strong mechanism in place to dodge you around. Keep calling, poor scheduler gets to hear things, does not take any notes, you only waste your time. No option to escalate or talk to manager. My house is without heating for 3 days and reliance is only playing games. 10 year warranty my ass

Very bad service. Made me wait from 10 to 2 pm, However a technician did not come, did not call . Just spend all days for nothing. Stay away from Reliance comfort, shoos another company

So this is a PSA for anyone thinking about getting Reliance service- DO NOT do it. They are amazing until you give them a contract - then you are worthless to them.
I have 4 accounts with them, and been a customer since 2015. I called because a service got "added as a promotion" to a bill without my consent.
Before I even got to this issue, the agent (seems like the overseas call center , Philliphines) raised his voice at me, and said I do not know what I am talking about - because he could not figure out why the service was added.
I asked to speak to a manager, he said ok, and then put me hold for 20 minutes, and no manager. I think they send you to a "black hole" and hope you hang up - which I did.
So, I tried again - called again, asked the person to direct me to a manager - same result - black hole. Seems like the reps say "ok i'll connect you to my manager" then hope you hang up.

40 minutes later, issue not even looked at, time wasted. I'd stay far away.

This is the offshore call center seemed to be in the phillipines this time - previously , with other call centers, never had thsi issue. You cannot get a canadian/local rep on the phone, ever for service. The offshore call centers have no context and keep trying to sell me stuff.

Disappointing and unprofessional sales, the so called "advisor" keeps dodging questions and appears to have no technical knowledge about their HVAC. Instead of answering questions, they keep talking about rental program over and over, it's a total waste of time.

What a great over all experience I had with reliance as a first time customer thank you to the plumbing team who took care of me plumbing and water treatment!

Our furnace stopped working on a Saturday night, no heat for almost 48 hours. We had to wait until Monday morning to get the furnace repaired. There is no point in offering 24/7 service if they won’t come out on weekends.
Ryan the technician who repaired our furnace was very professional and polite and explained everything he worked on. Thanks again Ryan for getting our house warmed up!
