Visited Salus Hearing & Tinnitus Centre to have my hearing checked today. Very impressed with how thorough my check-up was. I had no idea how many different ways there are to check ear health and hearing! Results were available right away and Sabrina the Audiologist/owner, spent time going over it with me, ensuring that I understood it all. I learned a lot from that visit. Sabrina, Christine, Alex, and the team at Salus helped me so much when I was struggling with hyperacusis. All sounds in my daily life were painful and overwhelming, and it was so hard to spend time with family or friends because of the noise. It happened so suddenly and it was a stressful experience. At Salus the team was very compassionate and helped me improve my hyperacusis in a matter of months, and I felt like myself again. The hearing aid treatment really changed my life and I was able to go back to doing the things I love. I will always be grateful to them for their support

10 years ago I had my first hearing test done, but like many people (as I’ve been told) I wasn’t ready for hearing aids. I felt embarrassed to have to wear them. But here we are 10 yrs later, unfortunately with more hearing loss but this time I was ready. My experience with Salus has been excellent! They truly take their time to ensure that you are fitted with the correct hearing aid and that you are 💯 comfortable. I also learned about the connection between hearing loss and dementia. Something I knew nothing about. So this has also been an educational journey. I’ve been wearing my new hearing aids for a few months now, Sabrina has been working with me to ensure the sound quality and fit are perfect!
Being able to hear properly is truly a blessing!!
I encourage everyone to go get a test and don’t wait 10 years like I did to get your hearing aids! Protect and preserve your hearing! Thanks again for everything!!

Disappointing Audiology Clinic Experience

I recently visited Salus audiology clinic and unfortunately, it was a nightmare from start to finish. Despite the thoroughness of the hearing test, I was shocked when they diagnosed me with permanent hearing loss. This diagnosis left me terrified and confused.

To add to the distress, it seemed like their primary focus was on selling hearing aids rather than providing genuine care. The technician/receptionist, who appeared to lack qualification, was insistent that I needed hearing aids, despite my assurance that my hearing was perfectly fine. It felt as though their priority was earning commissions from selling devices rather than considering my well-being.

Fortunately, my family doctor intervened and referred me to a specialist in North York. After undergoing another hearing test conducted by a highly qualified ENT specialist, I received the reassuring news that my hearing is absolutely fine.

I'm taking the time to share my experience because I don't want anyone else to go through the mental health struggles I faced after receiving an incorrect diagnosis two months ago. It's crucial to be cautious and seek second opinions, especially when it comes to matters as significant as hearing health.

I strongly advise against visiting this clinic. They caused unnecessary worry and stress, demonstrating a clear lack of concern for patient well-being and focusing solely on profits. Let's hope my feedback encourages them to reconsider their priorities and prioritize genuine patient care above all else.

I’m so pleased with how my appointment with Yasamin went. She’s understanding and extremely knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions clearly and completely. She exceeded my expectations in every way. All the staff at Salus are outstanding professionals. I highly recommend Salus Hearing for anyone requiring hearing assistance or experiencing tinnitus.
