I had to visit the ER last week. I was quickly triaged and taken into the waiting room where yes, the wait was long, but it's no fault of the hospital - it was a busy day for them! I was seen by Dr. Lee and he is an AMAZING ER Doctor. He's so nice, so thorough, doesn't rush you when asking question, he just a fabulous Doctor! All the other staff members were great too! Keep up the great work!

I had heart surgery 3 weeks ago , let me tell you if you love yourself stay away from this horrific place .
first day everything was good then the second day I got transferred to the 5th floor, the beginning of my nightmare, very noisy and two rooms with tv's on ,asked the nurse to do something about the noise, (heart surgery I'm in incredible pain) she ignored me, I asked why people watching tv aren't using head phones, no answer, I asked to speak to the head nurse and the ignored me. first 24 hrs of my surgery I did not get the care I needed from the so call nurses, they where having a good time at the nurse station for four hrs one came one night said get up like a sergeant in the army
they have signs like dr. office they threaten you when you did not do anything lots of offices are like that we have to do something about scare tactics from the thugs who don't want to do their jobs and find excuses not to look after patients, we are paying an arm and leg for it. Shame on you for having this type of personnel that does not care about patients and set up rules to scare them.+
If they can't deal with sick old people they should get job in warehouse boxes don't talk

IF YOU CAN AVOID THIS PLACE, ESPECIALLY THE ER. Nurses here walk around with this air of stink, which causes me to question why they even go into the medical field. They act like high school mean girls. Giggling and laughing talking about patients, completely ignores patients. God forbid you’re in some excruciating pain because that only annoys them further and ensues more neglect. Staying here in the emergency room with a really bad pain crisis. Not one in sight. When I finally managed to find one she said she would be back in a minute. 30 minutes past with no sign of her. Unable to walk due to the pain and the way nurses hooked me up to a bed, the only thing I could do was use my little strength to call out to anyone. I really didn’t want to disturb those sleeping. After 20 minutes of calling. I finally decided to drag myself out as far as I could to flag someone down. To my surprise looking out my room there were many nurses not even up to 15ft away from me. Including the nurse who said she would back in a minute. I said “excuse me” ignored. “ excuse me please” ignored. I yelled can I please get a nurse I’m in really bad pain. Ignored. I legit thought it was one of those situations where you die in a hospital then nobody can hear or see you. Tears began to fall from my face and I let out one last cry. Finally she decided to put her phone down to help. If you could even call it help. They make you feel like a burden. They are cold, they’re mean. Don’t even get me started on the so called “doctors”

I was at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket last night, and I want to share how touched I was by the amazing staff. I should start with Amanda at registration, who was fast, kind, polite, and professional. From there, the care I received—from the ECG team to the X-Ray department—was equally kind, efficient, and understanding. They truly know how to care for patients.

While I was there, I witnessed some scenes that made me think, "Oh my God, these nurses and doctors must really love their jobs to deal with certain patients who are not acting normally due to drugs or alcohol." This inspired me to write this review and let them know that we all see how incredible they are at what they do.

Thank you, Amanda, Christine, Adele, and everyone else whose names I can't remember right now—I truly appreciate your kindness and dedication. Please know that you will receive something truly precious in life because of the good you bring to society. God bless all of you.

im writing this review using my husband account, but what I share is my personal experience with this hospital for the past 28 years. I did not visit this hospital once to leave happy with the service and I had surgeries and emergency visits. Like not to say after emergency visit they need it to stitch up a vain i end up getting Hep. C, they use needle that was brought in the room unseal holding on her hand. I had surgery vain strip waiting till 7PM surgery booked at noon and no one came to let me know that I should go home because they cancel the surgery. no eating or drinking for 24 h then to find out they cancelled and no one came to informed me till someone found me crying and requested update ...then when they did the surgery i wake up full of blood on my both legs uncleaned and no one came to help me to clean up ,I had to band to clean my legs before going home. When you wake up from anesthesia is not easy to band and clean your self. I had last summer a major surgery ,I requested private room they said yes took insurance info but I end up in room with 6-8 others and they put the emergency hand stick with no bottom to be able to call them. Thanks God I didn't need help, night I had to use bathroom I had to hold my self on the walls because those 2 night nurses were asleep. I can go on and on with my experience with this hospital.

I recently visited the emergency department and was deeply disappointed by the level of care and professionalism displayed by the staff. Not only were they rude, but their overall lack of empathy made an already stressful situation even worse.

I understand that hospital staff are often under pressure, but basic respect and compassion should never be compromised—especially when dealing with patients in vulnerable situations. Sadly, after reading other reviews, it seems this is not an isolated incident.

I hope the administration takes these repeated concerns seriously and implements changes to improve patient care and staff behavior. No one should have to feel dismissed or mistreated when seekin medical help.

The radiologists who report on imaging should not have a practicing license! They reported my daughter had multiple fractures of her foot and ankle. Clearly, she needed a cast or a walking boot. They suggested that we pay for a $150 dollar boot, so we did. She continued to have pain in her foot, so we brought her to sick kids. Only to find out that she had no fractures at all! The pain was from the boot she didn't even need. How can you report multiple fractures on a simple x-ray? Gross negligence. Avoid imaging from here at all costs!
