Libby (my fur buddy) seemed to enjoy her stay. I found her outside chilling enjoying the outdoor space. The place was well maintained, clean, and had several choices for the dogs to choose where they wanted to be. The staff was very friendly and had a good rapport with the other clients (dogs).

The amazing team at Spaw Blue has provided my now 3 year old dog with exceptional care since she was a young puppy. My dog always jumps out of the car with excitement upon arrival and goes home happy and exhausted after a fun day of playing with the other dogs and wonderful staff. I highly recommend!

Patti took Oreo for a few hours while our son played in a tournament. We hadn’t planned to board him so it was a last minute plan and Patti was amazing and helped us out immediately. Our initial impression of Patti and the facilities at Spaw Blue left us excited to embark on our doggy daycare journey. We went through the meet and greet process and found out that Patti had been our puppy Millie's initial foster parent before we adopted her! We thought this was such a lucky stroke of fate and were confident leaving Millie in a familiar environment with a familiar human.

We were very clear about Millie being a 9 month old exuberant puppy who will eat whole tennis balls and rubber toys if given the opportunity.
Patti assured me they only keep dog safe toys on the premises and they are very careful to discard any toys that do not meet the safety standards.

I needed help caring for Millie between Monday, Feb. 3rd and Friday, Feb. 7th.

Millie returned from daycare on Monday with a couple small scrapes on her lower leg. Patti had assured me they scoured the yard and couldn't find anything she might've hurt herself on, but that she would keep an extra special eye on Millie going forward. This made me feel confident that my puppy would be safe in their care and we continued with daycare as scheduled.

Wednesday; Millie returned from daycare with a note that she had ingested part of a Kong toy. This is genuinely concerning, I was reassured there would be no way she could possibly ingest any of these dog safe toys. Patti is blaming this incident on my puppy for "chewing and destroying" the toy. This is normal puppy behavior, she should not have been able to destroy a KONG toy in 1 day. All of her Kong toys at home are still intact after 4+ months of rigorous use.

On Friday, Millie obtained a 2 inch round laceration on the front of her upper thigh. We were told we would be refunded immediately and they would investigate further as to how this could have happened and gone unnoticed.

Since then there has been zero follow up concern for Millie (she had to undergo surgery, received 15+ stitches, she is on sedative medication and 2 weeks of bed rest).

The only 'apology' we received was actually just an excuse for how the only staff member on site couldn't possibly have noticed something like this because of Millie's (very short) black hair, and the placement being 'under her tummy'.

I sent Patti an email seeking a proper investigation, and assurance that they have taken all the steps to run a safer daycare. There is a duty of care and liability does not cover negligence.

My email was met with her impulsive thoughts, ie: "there was not a drop of blood in the Spaw after her supposed injury here. I find that a mystery
My staff n I looked on the play structures, inside
The snow had not a drop
Interesting…..?"
There's no blood in our truck either and yet Millie was in there actively bleeding for 15 minutes all the way to the vet.

I would think any responsible business owner, especially one who's business relies on caring for living animals would do everything in their power to find the cause of these incidents.

Washing your hands of it saying "we did our best, I still don't know what happened and that settles it" is insulting. How long before something like this happens again? It is clear this was not a one-off incident, it happened twice to my puppy alone, within 5 days.

It is now Friday, February 14th, and I still have yet to receive the refund I was promised a week ago.

My experience was eye opening, Patti makes a wonderful first impression.
She is a literal ray of sunshine - until something goes seriously wrong. Proceed with EXTREME caution. ⚠️

Spaw Blue Staff was very careful and detailed during the booking process prioritizing my dog's safety and of the others dogs. When I dropped off my dog, the staff was friendly and always smiling. I booked my dog for day care services back to back for two days and the price was reasonable not to mention my dog felt in good hands 🙂 I would definitely recommend Spaw Blue to anyone looking for day care services for their dog in the Blue Mountains area!

My dogs love going to see Charlotte and Patty at Spaw Blue! They are so excited that as we get within 10 minutes of arriving, they're barking with excitement and can't wait to get inside to see their friends.
The place is beautiful with country grounds, plenty of space, and the owners living on-site. You really feel like you're dropping your dogs at a second home!
As for the space itself, there is a large room for the dogs to run with toys and open kennels that lead out to a huge pen where they can run and play together. When boarding, your dogs can go in a kennel or sleep on one of the many couches or comfy beds that they have available - it's up to you. Patty and Charlotte are true animal lovers and always have your pet's best interest at heart. If there are ever any issues or concerns they let you know right away as safety and caring for your dogs are their priority. I feel so comfortable entrusting my babies with them. I highly recommend Spaw Blue - it's a place your dogs will never want to leave! You can feel comfortable and at ease knowing your pets are here for the best day or overnight stay of their lives! Thank you Patty and Charlotte for your wonderful care and professionalism! We appreciate you 🙏

Wonderful dog kennel! I travelled from Waterloo to Blue Mountain. I am super happy that I found Spaw Blue. This place is a hidden gem. They have indoor and outdoor play area. Indoor is with air-condition!! They have TV, couch, pvt kennel area if dogs need some quite time or need to eat their food peacefully.
I took my dog along to Blue Mountain just to realize they aren't really dog friendly 🙁 . I left my dog Jasper in the kennels 2 days (day care) and he was super happy and came home exhausted! I would highly recommend this kennel to anyone looking for a kennel in Collingwood. Thank you Spaw Blue!
