Brought my 5 year old son to emergency tonight at 9:45pm with a fever of 40.8.

It's nearly 1am and 7 people of the 10 that were ahead of us have left in frustration. Staff are completely indifferant and actually happy that people are leaving so they can do less.

After 3 hours we're the last ones waiting in emergency and still its been an hour since the last person went into a room.

If those 7 people had stayed we could easily be here until 6am.

At this point I now have to take my son home and hope he doesn't have some serious over heating and die. Thanks a lot Stevenson and Ontario.

If there is a way to give demerit starts (points), I would be the first one to do that. It is a small size hospital but that is totally fine. The main issue is Emergency Department has rooms that I would think are worse than prison rooms in a developing country. They do have medical professionals of all back ground but I am not going to be hesitant to tell how fake and racist some of the staff are ( being racist is one thing and faking to be nice just till the door closes is totally a different level of deception). All the physicians were really amazing regardless of their gender or color. The hospital is going through a major renovation and it has a lot of potential to be a successful place due to the location of it. However, This little hospital has a long way to go. ER staff are full of lies and deception. I would only choose this place if the choices are prison vs this hospital. God bless this hospital.

Was in today, all the staff is great with how they greet you the 1st time . After that nothing more than, has someone taken your blood , I said No. Sat in a room, for 2 hrs, Dr's. Nurses tended to others , and no one spoke to me once after , Communication would of been nice. I felt like I was wasting their time, I still cannot feel my right arm , but I left, assuming someone else needed my space more. Total time 5.5 hrs.

A few months ago I had a severe case of constipation, due to something called "fecal impaction". I was in agony for over 24 hours and I took every remedy possible: I took stool softeners, laxatives, and an enema, and nothing worked. I couldn't sleep, and I was worried every time I needed to pass gas that I was going to rupture my bowels since it wouldn't come out.

After exhausting all remedies, I decided to go to this hospital, worried that it was just going to get worse. The hospital wasn't busy, and it didn't take too long for me to be seen.

So then why am I giving this place a negative review?

They took me to a non-private room, where another patient was already laying in bed, having a conversation with a visitor. Already it was uncomfortable and awkward, and then a doctor came in to ask me to explain my issue, which was humiliating. The other people just had to stop their conversation and listen to me talk about my constipation in detail. Why couldn't they give me my own room, especially if the place wasn't busy?

Then, another doctor comes in, and asks me to explain again for some reason, which was even more embarrassing. This doctor also had the general demeanor that he didn't take my condition seriously at all and just wanted me to leave, and he literally just gave me the name of another laxative and sent me on my way. I seriously didn't like his attitude at all and I was really close to telling him off for just how unprofessional he was being, like he was not even attempting to hide that he thought I was wasting his time.

I would honestly drive farther to go to another hospital than come here again. I understand that a lot of people go into emergency for non-serious issues and it must frustrate the staff there, but I don't think I fell into that category at all and again, the place was not busy in the slightest.

There are lots of other reviews about indifferent and uncaring staff, so this helps me feel vindicated.

I would love to give this 0 stars. My grandfather had been sick for 4 days straight. Diarrhea and vomiting, increased to every 15-30 minutes, and pain in his abdomen. We spent 3 hours in the ER waiting room before being brought back to "see the doctor". They had him give a urine sample, which they never tested. They never took blood. They didn't even look at his abdomen (no palpation, nothing to even see if it was even hurting or asking questions about it). We then waited another hour for the doctor, only for him to tell us that nothing was wrong (WITHOUT ANY TESTS BEING RUN), and when the doctor was asked if my grandfather was contagious and why he was so sick, the doctor told us very rudely, we were going to get sick, that we were "going to get it", despite inviting that my grandfather was fine and sending him home. The whole experience was a waste of time and I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. It's run down, the doctor was rude, and most importantly the level of care was atrocious as no tests were done. My grandfather, a man in his 80s, who we were worried about being dehydrated and his gallbladder and kidneys, ended being sick again for another 2 days. This hospital was awful.

I went to the hospital after being unable to get an appointment with my family doctor. I have been sick for 4 months, with 4 day intervals of decent health in between. The longest I have been well is 2 weeks. However, when I was finally seen by a doctor, they had no interest in finding out why I was so sick for so long. They only focused on my current symptoms which was just a cold, and told me its viral and I'm fine. I know that my current symptoms are not concerning, but being sick for 4 months straight, I hoped someone would take me seriously and actually try to find answers.

While my current symptoms were not even what I cared about, the doctor did check on them. However, the care was so bad and the doctor legitimately gas lit me into thinking I was seeing things. I saw white spots on my tonsils along with cold symptoms, and she checked my tonsils and said "there are no white spots" and discharged me. Perplexed, I went to the bathroom to check again because how could they be gone when an hour ago they were there. Sure enough, my tonsils were still full of spots. A kind nurse in the hallways saw my confusion and I told her the situation. Despite being nothing but kind, the doctor sent that nurse back to me instead to tell me that "she didn't say I didn't have white spots, but that it is viral". 100% Untrue. She said there was nothing there, and I even asked her "There are no white spots? They were there an hour ago", to which she answered "none". What kind of doctor lies to a patient and backtracks when they get caught? When I got home, my husband took a picture of the crazy amount of spots on my tonsils.

Regardless, I didn't care about the tonsils! I cared that I have been ill non-stop for 4 months! No compassion from the doctor, extremely disappointing.

The staff at Stevenson emerg are the best. The last 3 days my son has been dealing with a severe infection. Due to this we have been in and out of the emerg department for the last 3 days. The nurses have been so amazing. Today Melissa greeted us and remembered us, which is pretty impressive since they deal with so many people. She was able to deal with the issue we were having with his IV bag and had us back out in 20 minutes.
I am so grateful for the best emergency staff

I honestly can’t praise this hospital enough. The level of care I have experienced during some tough times has been so heartwarming. Each person I have spoken with or have been treated by have been so personable kind and genuinely caring. Emergency crew, admin staff all the way to the best ultrasound technicians 🩷 thank you for all your hard work, big hearts and the strength to make each patient feel important 🩷🩷 most hospitals you don’t ever enjoy but I always look forward to my appointments here.
