I visited this clinic about six months ago, feeling hopeful and finally ready to get some real help for my polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). I'm 21 years old and have been struggling with this condition for a long time. I was relieved to have finally gotten an appointment with a gynaecologist but that hope was quickly crushed.

Dr. Hubner showed up over an hour late to our appointment. When she finally arrived, she immediately had a HORRIBLE attitude and began to downplay my concerns. She spoke to me in a condescending tone and made me feel small and ashamed for expressing how PCOS has affected my life.

When I told her that I wasn’t using any contraceptives, she reacted as if I was a reckless teenager scolding me in a way that felt more like being told off by an angry parent than speaking with a medical professional. I explained that I had been on birth control since I was 14, and that it had caused serious mental health issues, including suicidal thoughts. I was trying to explore other options for managing my condition, but she dismissed everything I said and told me I should have stayed on birth control all along that everything I was doing was wrong.

She ended up prescribing me an estrogen-free birth control to "hopefully" help me regain my period and manage my symptoms. I was so flabbergasted by how the appointment had gone that I didn’t know what to say. I just nodded and agreed with her recommendation because, in that moment, I didn’t want to be yelled at or belittled anymore. Despite taking what she prescribed, I still haven’t regained my period.

I left that appointment in tears, feeling humiliated, unheard, and judged. No one should ever leave a doctor’s office feeling worse than when they walked in. Dr. Hubner was rude, unprofessional, and completely lacking in empathy. I genuinely don't understand how someone like that is still practicing medicine. If you're struggling with PCOS or any sensitive health issue, I strongly advise you to seek care elsewhere. You deserve to be listened to, respected, supported and not belittled.

DO NOT SEE DR HUBNER!!

I have been waiting over 6 months for this referral and I finally got my appointment.
First, she’s 45 minutes late for the appointment after I had to drive 2 hours to get there.
Then when she’s finally ready to see me, she’s immediately condescending, telling me that everything I’m doing is wrong (even though I’m doing exactly what my family doctor has told me to do), laughed at me for having an MRI booked (again, ordered by my family dr), ridiculed me for taking the medication my dr prescribed me, told me that birth control is my only option and when I told her I’d rather explore other options first because birth control makes me suicidal, she said that I “better get used to it”. I walked out of the appointment after she yelled at me that she’s “the expert here” after I mentioned possible surgery or other options since we don’t even have a diagnosis yet to say that BC is the only option.
About 10 minutes later I received a call that they had “accidentally” rebooked me and that they would have to cancel because I am “no longer allowed in their establishment”.

Horribly rude, terrible punctuation, unprofessional behaviour and appearance, consistently interrupting and assuming what I mean or am going to say, terrible listening skills, and just overall the absolute WORST doctor I’ve ever seen.
If I could give 0 stars, I would.

The difference an exceptional OBGYN can make in your pregnancy is incredible. I have had the pleasure of working with Dr. McCauley for my pregnancy and felt validated, cared for, and understood throughout my pregnancy. Appointments with him were efficient but not rushed; he always took the time to make sure I felt human in this process, and I truly felt that my baby and I were in great hands. While he didn’t end up being the on-call doctor who delivered my baby, all of the staff who did care for me at the Sturgeon were also excellent. Very competent and compassionate. Ultimately, I got the redemptive, positive birth to my second baby (a healthy baby girl) and I am so grateful to Dr. McCauley and the Sturgeon Women’s Health Clinic, including all of the nurses and admin staff who were also lovely, for the massive role they played in this process.

This clinic really needs to take the complaints about the receptionist seriously. Every single time I'm here she is extremely rude to someone. She is constantly talking about the other patients and it's extremely unprofessional.
The clinic is overall ok. I have never had them be on time though always waiting at least 45 min, with no heads up either. It's not hard to let someone know you are running behind. Dr.Lacasse was my doctor, she was ok. She rushed through my time in the hospital though which I really didn't appreciate . I didn't even know she was leaving and she just never checked in with me again.
She's pretty blunt which I do like, however she basically told me I was remembering my previous delivery wrong and over exaggerating what happened to me, which I didn't appreciate at all. Especially considering she wasn't there. Not the best but could have been worse I suppose.

RECEPTIONIST 👎 my wife was just berated by a receptionist for not “responding to them”. Between last week and this week we have called nearly 20 times to change an appointment time. My wife finally got through booked the appointment to have this women be horrible to her. We didn’t miss an appointment. Nobody was injured. They just booked it on a day we can’t make the trip. My wife kept saying, I did respond. I’ve been calling non stop I can’t get through. The woman said, it’s a very busy clinic you need to “respond”. My wife said I have been. Do you have an answering service? I wasn’t able to leave a
Message. The lady growled no! They are far too busy for that. The women kept going on and on about her “not responding” no matter how many times my wife said that she had been trying too. Make is clearly having medical issues. This was unbelievably Unnecessary. I’m not sure why this woman was looking to fight with someone Over absolutely nothing. My wife didn’t say one word about the amount of time
We’ve spent on hold. Just a, good morning this is my name I need to move an appointment. That could send someone dealing with mental health issues/ physical issues and perhaps overwhelm dealing with everything over the edge for sure. If reception can’t keep up maybe it’s time To switch somethings around.

Called to book my checkup after giving birth and because I didn’t call in “a timely manner” they are refusing to see me at all, even after I informed them that I no longer have a family doctor. Absolutely shocking to be completely abandoned like this after giving birth.

Very dismissive. Not to mention they messed up my doctors appointment with the doctor I was suppose to see and gave me the devil herself Dr. Drummond. I have never seen such a woman who hates other women so bad. She was gaslighting me the entire consult and acting as if I didn’t know what I was talking about not to mention she LIED about several statistics just to feed her own ideology. It was very weird to me. Women’s health isn’t taken seriously and idk why this woman decided to go into gyn just to be a waste of space and danger.

I'm ALSO CONVINCED the receptionist is related to the office manager or something because every time i walk in there she acts like she is the owner of the place. No returned calls, speaking loudly about patient's personal info (which is a HIPPA violation btw) AND having attitude with women going through pregnancy whilst knowing they are in a very vulnerable state. HOW CAN EVERYONE THERE NOTICE THE DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR OF THESE PPL AND NOTHING IS DONE There is a gynecologist shortage in Alberta and they are taking advantage of this fact and not improving their service. Disgraceful.

They do NOT care about women’s health and will LIE to prove a point and are very ageist. Disgusting, would never step foot in this place again!
