I was unconscious after being hit by a tractor trailer near Marathon Ontario. The truck slid sideways down the hill towards me. I had no where to go with guard rails next to me. It took maybe 10 to 15 minutes I think to get to the Hospital. So by the time someone called an ambulance, to the time it took to arrive, and by the time I came to on my own, I remained unconscious in my truck in cold December. After coming to, a man was standing beside my truck. Perhaps a driver who was behind me. I asked if I got hit by a trailer cause I remembered being hit by some kind of trailer, but expected worse from a Semi. He said you got hit by a tractor trailer. Maybe you should go to the ambulance and pointed to it. I ended up walking 30 yards or so to the ambulance. I was the only vehicle hit. I spun sideways so the truck that hit me sideways may have straightened out and stopped down the road.
So why were the ambulance personnel still sitting in their ambulance? What were they waiting for. What if I did not come to on my own and started to freeze? How much longer in the cold winter would I be lying there before someone would come to help? I did not ask these questions as I was still trying to remember where I was heading and why. It took a while to remember along the route to hospital. Not sure why they were sitting in the truck or for how long, but you would think they would stop quickly, close, and attend immediately. Still puzzled! And the Hospital nor the ambulance reported that I suffered a concusion? Whoever was on duty that day could have saved a life or lost a life in those minutes waiting in the ambulance. Who or what they were they waiting for?
