I feel it is honestly hit or miss with who I speak with at this business. Some people are very understanding and helpful and other times I feel I'm dismissed and they don't care or are annoyed that I'm calling. I asked Sunday (which I understand is after hours) if they received my deposit. The person said they would have to forward the question to a technician who would call me back. They called me back and said they could see something was waiting to clear on Monday. So I asked them to deliver Monday. Well, today is Monday and no delivery and no call. So I called, got transferred around 3 times for them to get my information and say they will call me back. 3 hours later no one called me back. So I called them again and just got the run around. I'm a renter and have no other options but to be with this company and I feel that they really don't care and the customer service is most times lacking. They want new customers (Even if they're renters) to have $1,000 sitting in their accounts before they will deliver. I understand getting stung before by other people but I think $1,000 it way too much, especially for renters in these hard times who are more likely than not, on a rental program and a single family income. I asked to have them run my credit and allow me to have regular service delivery and they said they ran it but the owner will not allow me to do it. They would not explain why. So I asked to speak with the owner to find out what the credentials are to be allowed on regular delivery. The person told me the owner doesn't speak with ANYONE. Please do better and treat people like people and have a little bit more compassion.

So when i call Stinson's today it will be 4 times. Jim has called 3. Today I am calling because I am not as nice as Jim. We only need something simple done . We need a thermostat moved off an exterior wall so our furnace isn't running constantly. There the ones that put it there. So we have bought new furnaces and new AC from them just a year plus we own there tanks and they can't stop to check a simple thing so if you need to buy a furnace go somewhere else. Tech man drives by our house everyday morning and night on his way to work or home. All I'm saying is look around before you buy a furnace .

I had excellent service from the Napanee Stinson service team! I had called early yesterday morning that my furnace stopped working, and first they tried helping me over the phone to see if we could avoid charges before sending a guy out which was really considerate! A lot of companies would never try to do that. The technician arrived that same day and was able to get everything working! He was super friendly and kind, and for someone who isn't technical he took the time to go over what he did so I will know for the future if that occurs again. I would recommend them to anyone! 🙂

Don't let them in your house.

They will say whatever lie they need to, to get you to agree to a free home assessment.

They will red tag all your equipment, cut open your ductwork and not seal it up well, reducing the efficiency of your furnace.

They will install their tank before clearing you to use propane, then red tag everything. Leaving you stuck.

Then they will call you and quote you for a new furnace, since yours is red tagged and "needs replacing".

Good luck Stinson, no one will do business with you crooks.

We used Stinson for 5yrs at our Cottage property. When we decided to consolidate our service with the one we use at our home we called Stinson to come pick up the tank. Like any company they asked our reason for cancelling. I simply told them that we use a greater amount at our home and they are providing a discount on all our services. Myself and the service guy from the new company brought the tank to top of laneway to make it easy for Stinson’s to pick up. A month later we have been sent a $210 invoice for tank pick up. Not one time was I notified that there would be a charge for pick up. If so I would have had the new company drop it off. Since then I have had an email conversation with a sales person from Stinson about this fee.. his response was “ Maybe you should have asked us what we could do to keep you as a customer rather then go through this? typically a company should reach out to the customer and ask the question themselves. Its unfortunate that this happen, I feel the company should be more transparent with “fees” that are applied to cancellation.

I agree with the post below not to trust their billing practices. When they tell you "locked in" prices for buying your furnace through them... thats not what they actually mean (glad they aren't my mortgage company) and they dont actually follow their own contract. When you point out the price you were locked in at (on the contract) you get the response of "its evaluated every May 31st." That is not what it says on their CONTRACT. Also when your set to a monthly fillup they think its ok to then skip a month and then raise the rates then send a truck out to fill the tank. Then when you point it out they stop answering because they cant answer for their shady practices. Obviously this is how they treat their customers the dishonesty is so not worth it especially when they REFUSE to correct their own wrong doings by ignoring you.

second time now, Stinson has left me in the winter with no propane, so much for a scheduled delivery system. They tagged my house for deficiencies, and were corrected a few days later and still have not sent an inspector out, so when I ran out of propane in the middle of winter for the second time when im on scheduled delivery system they would not due to not re inspecting the tag. Well done, I wouldn't trust you to heat my dog house in the summer, also watch what you pay per litre with stinson, propane prices fluctuate, they will let you know when they are up, but not down

Since moving to Wolfe Island a year ago, we have been Stinson customers. While the men who come and fill our propane tanks are polite and hardworking, today we are writing to compliment you on three of your employees.

James Barcelos came to our home to determine critical components of the project and survey the site for appropriate placement of all the required elements. He offered options as appropriate for our home and needs. In part because of James’ role, the job was completed on time. James was polite, informed, and methodical in his approach and design.

Eric Rohde and Ben Knipple have been working at our home for the week. Their role was to remove two old geothermal heat pump furnaces and electric water heater and install two new propane furnaces, one in our workshop and one in our home, and install a propane water heater. Ben and Eric are experts. They both are knowledgeable, careful, thorough, and efficient, effective hard workers. As well, Ben and Eric are courteous, polite and thoughtful.

Today, I went downstairs to clean up the basement to the areas of the furnace and water heater. With all the sawing, removing of unnecessary hardware and preparation to install the new appliances, I was expecting a bit of a clean up job. There was nothing for me to clean up! I was thrilled as other tradespeople are not so conscientious and considerate.

My husband and I cannot say enough about the work ethic and skills of these Stinson emplyees. While each has his own area of specialization, they work together as a harmonious unit. It will be our absolute pleasure to recommend your company to our friends and neighbours.
