Have worked with Containers R Us twice now for two separate projects that involved storage and intermodal shipping needs not easily accomplished with out they're expert knowledge. In both cases we required specialized containers; first project we used two 53ft insulated units, the second project we needed a 40ft Hi-Cube.

In both cases Containers R Us accommodated rental storage needs, trucking, tilt and load service and rail freight out to Western Canada. Was the only way we could juggle the freight and the incremental project install stages all at once as basic trucking wouldn't provide storage while the intermodal rail transit offered unique cost savings for the distances involved.

Will definitely use them again the next time!

This review should have been posted months ago. It reflects poorly on me to say that only now that I need another container and am looking back over my paper work I realize I hadn't posted a well deserved review. Despite my state of overwhelm, Gunter's assistance should have been recognized with a review. My sincere apologies to Gunter and Containers R Us, they did a great job helping me out and this is a long over due public thank you.
Gunter was super to work with. He got me the specailized container I needed and when I was ready to ship he took care of its heavier-than-usual needs, right down to great delivery service at the receiving end. As you can see, I'd happily use his services again. (I will be calling shortly.)

Gunter was great to work with. We moved from Ontario to Nova Scotia, we were able to purchase the shipping container from Containers R Us and they also worked out all the logistics for the delivery and pick up of the container at our old home, the shipping of the container and the delivery of the container to our new home. All of our things arrived on time and without damage, he followed through with everything he said he would. I am very happy with the results, if you are debating a move, take the stress out of it and choose containers r us.

My experience with Containers R Us was my first experience shipping anything in a sea container. In comparison to the other large companies, such as Big Steel Box, the price was comparable. The main thing that set this company apart was the ability to book a 40ft container with all the logistics worked out by the company for my containers trip from ON to NB.

I started by vetting the company rigorously because they are not a large, well-known company. I checked online reviews and the BBB. I contacted their previous clients listed on their website for a reference, and I contacted the trucking companies that the owner Gunter provided to me to ensure they did work with them. I verified their business number and tax numbers with the government to ensure they were registered and active. Perhaps this is more than most would do, but I needed to feel comfortable handing over the type of money this takes, and I have read plenty of moving company horror stories online.

My experience was not perfect, but in the end, everything that the company promised was fulfilled, and the experience was overall satisfactory. There were some logistical issues that arose, mainly with the company used to deliver and pick up the container in ON. Since this is part of the whole package, it does reflect on my overall experience.

The container was dropped off later in the day than expected when received, and when it was picked up, it was nothing short of the worst-case scenario. The company showed up MUCH later than anticipated and had all kinds of issues with the pickup. It seems the way that the container was initially unloaded made it very difficult for them to load. A completely different truck setup was used for the drop-off than what was used for the pickup.

The company ended up keeping the owner of the lot and my husband up until midnight dealing with this issue. They needed to bring in an extra truck to load the container, and needless to say, no one was happy throughout the experience, including the drivers, but it was what it was and eventually, they got the container out of the lot.

The positives of this experience were that I was able to get a 40ft container for a fair price and ship my vehicle inside. Where Gunter was able to save me money, he did, and that was appreciated. All of the logistics were managed by Containers R Us as far as setting up the drop-offs and pick-ups. Payment options were plenty, and Gunter was very easygoing with this and all other aspects of the business dealing. Communication at times was not as fast and comprehensive as you may expect, having dealt with larger companies with a bigger staff, but for a one man show I was quite impressed with the service.

At the end of the day, if you are looking for a fair price, a company you can trust to get the job done, a large container, and a lot less headache than trying to navigate the logistics yourself, I would recommend using Containers R Us.

Unfortunately The head of sales at containers R us is not a honest person. sold me a custom build freezer/fridge/storage unit and totally misrepresented the product. It will cost me thousands more dollars to get this unit up and running. Terrible experience - would avoid company at all cost as once presented with the problem where told some inappropriate words and have since stopped responding

I recently bought 2, 20 foot pods from Containers R Us. The owner of the business ensured the delivery was on time as was the pick-up. Moving from Hamilton to Prince Edward Island is stressful at it's best but the diligence Gunter Hinz put into the transaction made the experience not only successful but also educational. The pods were transported on a flatbed train car from Brampton to Moncton and delivered together on a 45 foot hydraulic truck trailer to our new driveway. Professional drivers were behind the wheel on both the pick-up and delivery.
I would highly recommend Containers R Us for this type of long distance move. Ted.

He was also extremely helpful in offering us viable solutions in getting the Sea Container (purchased through a third party in the end) out of province. We just recently moved from Barrie Ontario to New Brunswick . From the get go Gunter was a pleasure from beginning to end.We had no issues at all. We purchased the container and had it delivered right to our front door and couldnt be happier. I would not hesitate for one second to use this service. Saved us $$$$$$, compaired to the other guys.
