The ultrasound tech here should NOT be scanning anyone especially pregnant women.

I went in for a dating ultrasound and was asked if I had any cramping or bleeding. Then she couldn’t find my uterus while scanning me. The “baby” she showed me didn’t look like a baby at all and I was very worried. She told me baby was fine and had a fetal pole.

In the notes back to my nurse practitioner I found out there was no fetal pole and they were suspecting a miscarriage. Instead of having me return in 48 to 72 hours I was advised to come back 2 weeks later for a rescan. At the rescan the tech told me the baby was fine even though you could barely see a “baby”. I kept trying to ask the tech questions about my previous scan vs what she was seeing this time. She was rude and argumentative with me. I left there crying and ended up in the emergency room because she made me believe I was having a missed miscarriage by what she was saying.

I was indeed having a missed miscarriage and the hospital confirmed it within 4 hours of me arriving. I had to wait 4 hours because instead of sending both reports right away this clinic waited until after close to send it over and they only sent over the first report to the ER and not the second one when both were requested. The ultrasound tech and OB at the hospital reviewed my ultrasounds to confirm I should have been sent to the ER to confirm the miscarriage.

Based on the techs reports and recommendations my health care team made me wait for 2 weeks while carrying around a dead baby when I should of been sent straight to the ER the same day of the very first ultrasound.

I ended up having to have a D&C at 10 weeks, instead of being able to have one at 6 weeks. I not only had to deal with the trauma of becoming attached to the baby, I also had to deal with the complications of having Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

This clinic will also not release my records to me even though it is my right to have them once requested. They will also no longer return my calls about reporting the ultrasound tech to the manager or to get my files. My next step will be to show up in office and not leave until I get them.

The “clinic manager” also blamed me for having a missed miscarriage, he said I should have been under the care of a medical professional and that’s why it happened because I wasn’t. Except my nurse practitioner requested the ultrasound due to my history of having HG and early pregnancy loss.

I overall would rate this place 0 stars if I could but I can’t. I will never recommend here.
