On Tuesday, May 13, we called Medivisit for help. A year ago, they’d been very helpful - but something has drastically changed. The representative who answered sounded new to the job. I told her that my wife and I were very ill with fever severe chest congestion and exhausting coughing jags. She told me a doctor would visit us between 2 and 8,on Thursday - 2 days away. We waited. No one showed. I called. Janelle, who sounded very competent, answered. She told me we didn’t have an appointment. What?!
“No, it seems you were placed on “standby”.
“But we were given an appointment -promised a visit today”, I said. “Not what I have on my record”, she replied.
“Then why are we waiting for a doctor today, between 2 and 8?” I asked. Janelle didn’t reply. “How soon can we see a doctor?” I asked.
“We’ll It’s a long weekend and I don’t see the possibility to make an appointment until Tuesday. You can remain on standby, but there are no doctors in your area, so I can’t promise anything.”
“When will doctors be in the area?”
“That’s up to the doctors. They get to choose the area they want.”
“You don’t assign calls in order?”
“No.”
Today is Saturday, May 17, 2025. We’re still too ill to go to a doctor’s office. I just called Medvisit again. There are no doctors in the area.
We live in Guildwood. That’s in Scarborough.

The following is solely my opinion/my point of view, so consider that accordingly: Saying that, if I could give a rating of zero, I would do so. This Medvisit service used to be, in my perception, a well-ran, dependable, caring, conscientious, professional Doctor Home Visit service, that would at least try to see the elderly, most fragile the same day, if you call ahead in the morning, or at least be seen the next day. However, lately they are only able to see you in about 3 days, and today I heard it would be in 7 days!! Then in February [2025], after being told the fragile, elderly patient would be seen in 3 days, they canceled that visit the day of, due to their own emergency; that was understandable; things happen.

They then rescheduled that visit for 2 days later; however, no Doctor showed up, despite confirming with them the morning of, then calling back at the end of the given time period (and was told yes Doctor coming), & then calling back after another wait whereby had to actually ask if they might please reach out to the Doctor, & was told they did & would follow up with the outcome whether or not the Doctor returned their inquiry. Well by the end of the night, no Doctor’s visit, and no call back from the service ever, to my knowledge. This is about providing medical care. I will let this speak for itself.

Zero stars if I could. From the automated message saying their call volume was too high and to call back at 11 (it was 11:03), to an inordinately long hold time once I finally got through. While on hold they kept pushing to book online - so I simultaneously did that, but it still was a 30 mins wait time. The agent then said she had to call me back to book my appointment - which she did 10 mins later. She was asking a slew of bizarre questions - to which I asked for clarification - and she told me she’s trying to figure out if I’m OHIP eligible or if I need to pay the $250 doctor’s visit fee. She said she’d message me back to confirm. Another 10 minutes later she says I’m not eligible and should call 911 and go to a hospital - all because I said my symptoms have been respiratory and fever for the past 3 days, with body and aches and extreme fatigue - so can’t get out of bed and drive myself to a walk-in clinic. Imagine everyone with the flu or whatever this is rushing to the hospital. What a disgrace.

Made appt Monday for today 2pm - 9pm - it is now 8:09 and we have not heard from the doctor. Im now on hold with Medvisit for over 5 minutes. Now talking to CSR, she's going to text the doctor - let's see what happens... Dr replied "soon"... i asked for an ETA..

We had a very positive with Medvisit yesterday. The office staff was pleasant and helpful. The doctor came during the designated time and diagnosed my elderly , disabled husband . We want to thank Dr. Ibude for her kindness and efficiency.

We had an amazing experience with this service for an elder family member. A doctor arrived within an hour and a half and was very thorough with their assessment. The doctor was very patient and answered all questions. We were able to avoid a hospital visit, which would have been the only option at that time. We were happy that we didn’t have to expose them to hospital germs!

Poor sevice and poorly organized. As the result the doctor didn"t see my very sick elderly client, although the agent was given the correct address and also was told that the person doen't speak any English and had no relatives and stays home all alone. How come the doctor called her and asked for the address on his way to visit her and he ( the doctor ) canceled that visit. For that kind of attitute those heartless doctors should be deprived of their licences in my opinion They should help at any cost and not just make money
