On this date 06/10/2025 about 4:35 P.M. I was rushed to St. Joesph’s Hospital ER Department. I experienced a bad fall down 5 or 6 cement stairs. I landed head first, tried breaking my fall with my hands. I was bleeding profusely, from my nose, hands, and knee caps. Also had a huge welt or bump on my forehead. ER was extremely busy this evening, patients and EMS drivers scattered all about. The check in process was rather quick, I was put on a comfortable gurney in the hallway (a makeshift room). Didn’t take long for the Attending ER Doctor on duty (A Doctor Hamilton) to attend to myself. He asked several questions and ordered a Cat-Scan to check for fractures and possible concussion issues. The nice jovial porter came within a good time, took me to magnetic imaging and had my Cat-Scan performed, even the tech there was nice, friendly and accommodating. The nurse I had on duty was very nice too, she made me comfortable, cleaned up my wounds, took my vitals and checked on me periodically, while going from patient to patient. ER was obviously changing shifts, and a new set of Doctors and nurses came on. Those ER Doctors took over, followed up with more questions, awaited results from the Cat-Scan, those came back in good time. Showed I suffered a nose fracture and no serious effects to the inside of my head. I had abrasions, hematoma and a “chunk” out of the bridge of my nose (that couldn’t be stitched up) because it was right on the bone, no skin to bring together. I was cleared to go, just had to wait for my paper work and a 7-day script for antibiotics. I was on my way, all in 5 hours! Considering on how busy ER was that evening, I prepared for a much longer time in ER. Overall it was a good experience for myself at St. Joesph’s ER on this visit.
Thank-You to all involved in ER, Doctors, nurses, porters and even the hard working house keepers who keep the Hospital clean the best they can.

Giving birth to me is something extremely special but also extremely intense and if not handled properly can be extremely stressful and traumatic. Twice I had given birth here and twice I had the best experience a woman could ever ask for. The staff here is just out of this world kind, helpful, and extremely caring. But also very very knowledgeable and professional. They clearly take pride in choosing some of the best nurses, doctors and staff. 2 births and not a single bad thing to point out and so many good things that I cannot list them in one review. I really really cannot say enough good things about this hospital. Thank you to the st Joseph staff but special thanks to the nursing staff at the birthing ward

During the labor process, we were initially assigned to Nurse Sophie, who was exceptional. She was transparent about every step of the process, making us feel comfortable and reassured that we were on the right track for a smooth labor and delivery. However, after her shift ended, the experience changed drastically.

The new nurse did not introduce herself and was both rough and rude in her approach. From the moment she arrived, she was overly negative about the progress of the labor and strongly pushed for a cesarean section. She did not communicate her actions, including adjustments to vitals, increasing the epidural dosage, and reducing the oxytocin without informing us.

We strongly believe these uncommunicated interventions contributed to the labor ultimately resulting in a C-section instead of a normal delivery. We request the hospital to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter to ensure proper care and transparency for future patients.

Went to ER, was myself and another person in waiting room. I had a kidney stone. Took a number. The receptionist, Amanda, made me wait an additional 25 minutes for her to finish her conversation with another staff member about backwashing her pool. Staff had tons of food laying around. Finally got an initial intake by nurses who seemed not interested. Waited another 40 minutes. Left, went to Juvanaski and was seen immediately.

A few things- this hospital has potential to be great. The triage area staff were so friendly and sweet. The nurses that bring you to the rooms to be seen by a Dr are a little rough, they could have a little kindness, compassion, patience, but still just ok. The dr was nice enough, i know it's a busy area, but don't make the sick person feel rushed and unimportant. Everyone matters. The cleanliness could be better too, there were blood splatters in the waiting room, and the whole emergency smells like cigarettes. Doesn't really smell sterile at all. I gave 3 stars for the front staff, and the quick wait time, but the hospital needs a bit of care.

I had an MRI at St. Joseph’s in Hamilton and for someone with very bad anxiety, of course I was incredibly terrified going in, but I can’t say enough good things about my experience. Angel, the MRI tech, was truly exceptional. He was kind, patient, and went out of his way to help me feel calm and supported throughout the entire process.

Living up to his name, Angel was a literal angel during a very stressful moment for me. His professionalism and compassion made all the difference, and I’m so grateful for the care I received.

I was taken to St. Joseph's with a pain in my chest and sever anxiety because I thought I was having a heart attack. After triage ( in case anyone doesn't understand what that is) It is where they determine immediate life threatining conditions and prioritizes who is in need of the most urgent care. Take the time to look up Websters definition of a Medical Emergency. For myself they did a battery of bloodwork and 2 ecg's I was there for 9 hrs after they determined I was indeed not having a heart attack, it takes time to do all these tests including the bloodwork btw, it was something less serious, and not immediately life threating. As I waited in the chair for a Dr to come fill me in on my condition, I witnessed at least a dozen people treat the staff like dirt because they weren't being served like it was the Hiton or the Rivera. Even the staff are humans, Dr's included and I can understand why from time to time they would be annoyed by certain people. Not to mention the opioid epidemic who brings droves of people, coming in with bullshit reasons to get a fix. No wonder the ER staff are overwhelmed and we have wait 9, or more hours. My situation turned out to be a condition that was not life threatining, thank God! But the 9 hrs I was there I was treated with noting but respect. And I was also treated for my condition. 9 hrs in the waiting room was not pleasant. But I for one get it. 5 stars! Thank you!! And bless, especially the nursing staff, for doing what you do! I guaranty there are not many people who have what it takes, or would even want to do what you do.
