I knew when I got pregnant that I wanted to have a Doula. I searched for Doula's in Sudbury and contacted each of them by email. I got a quick reply from Sudbury Doula Services which is something I love to see in a business as I provide the same services for my clients. I chose Meg to be my Doula because I felt the services she offered were the best. Photography, placenta encapsulation, education and support during pregnancy, postpartum support and so much more. Meg went above and beyond what I expected. I didn't realize before I got pregnant how many fears would surface. Meg was there to help me through every one. To empower me to make the choices I thought were best for me and my baby and to prepare me if things didn't go as planned. She was always there when I needed her and I needed her a lot. As it got closer to my birth she was my go to. Having four children of her own, she was a wealth of knowledge. During my birth, which didn't go as planned she was there every minute to support me- the whole 21 hours. It was like she read my mind. She knew exactly what I needed for comfort and supported my spouse also. There was no fear during my birth because Meg and I had addressed them all before hand. It was a tough labor and delivery but it was the best day of my life and I truly believe it was because of Meg's support. She also supported me so much after Kaiden was born too. As a new mom having trouble breastfeeding she was a huge part of why I was able to be successful and persevere through it. I think everyone should have a Doula not only for birth but throughout the pregnancy as well. Having that support and someone to turn to and trust is priceless. Meg is the best!

My wife and I decided we wanted the help of a Doula for our first child. When we met Meg, we knew right away she was the one. She is kind, caring, compassionate and very supportive. She answered all our questions, and made sure our birth plan was respected at the hospital. She put both of us at ease in the delivery room and gave me the confidence to even cut the cord. she was amazing.

When I was pregnant my midwife had suggested to me that I look into hiring a Doula, it was hands down the best decision I've made. Meg was there for me during my pregnancy, answering all my questions and concerns at any hour of the day, she fully educated me and prepared me for labour, breastfeeding, lactation, and how to care for a newborn. From the moment I realized I was having contractions, I called her right away, we met up with my midwife at her office and across the road to the hospital we went considering I was already 8cm dilated! lol I honestly don't believe I would of been able to go through with my 100% all natural birth plan without my midwife and doula, they truly were the dream team. Labour is something I've feared my entire life and is extra intimiding to face as a single mother but I rocked it! I have a zero pain tolerance and anyone who knows me can agree. All my family and friends thought it was hilarious hearing about my all natural birth plan before hand and were even more astonished when I actually did it! I was properly prepared and educated for labour and was even given lots of helpful tips and tricks to help induce labour naturally, to help open up my pelvis and soften my cervix which helps minimize tearing. Not to forget the proper way to push to avoid tearing! Well I'm proud to say birth was the most beautiful experience I've had, it wasn't scary, the pain was mind over matter with a great purpose, I was in active labour for a few short hours and my beautiful daughter entered the world without a hitch and no stitches for mom with a nice speedy recovery!! Giving birth should always be a beautiful experience, you hear those horror stories some mamas go through and my heart truly breaks for them. Meg took the time to get to know me on a personal level, I would like to say we even became friends, she listened to my plan and she believed in me from the start. She knew what I wanted and gave me the tools so I could accomplish so! She also continuously reminded me of my strength and goals throughout labour whenever I decided I couldn't do it anymore hahah and I truly think if Meg wasn't with me I would of caved and took the drugs, something to ease the pain and know I would of regretted it after because our bodies were created to bring life into this world. So much love you Meg Davey and continue doing what you do, helping moms have that beautiful birth experience they dream for and deserve.

Meg was referred to us through our midwives. It was the best choice we made hands down! Meg is very passionate about pregnancy,birth and post partum.Meg was available at any time to offer advice or just for a chit chat regarding any worries or questions. Truly the best experience. I found Sudbury Doula Services when I unexpectedly found out we were expecting our third child. After the traumatic birth of my second child, I swore I was done having children. When I found out I was expecting I felt the panic and fear set in fast. I felt trapped and terrified. Then by a stroke of luck or even fate, I got in touch with Meg from Sudbury Doula Services. Her calm down to earth demeanor and her positivity immediately soothed me. Together we went through my entire pregnancy, she was always there for me and my husband. She helped me build myself up and go into my birth with confidence and ease (something I really didn't think was possible in the beginning). I could not be more thankful for my decision to hire this Doula. I loved giving birth to my son and it will forever be one of the proudest most fulfilling moments of my life.

I had met with Emily and Meg from sudbury doula services because I was trying to decide if I was going to have them be a part of my birth. It was going to be a different and difficult birth for me. As soon as I met with them my mind was completely at ease. They are so welcoming, supportive and super empathetic. It is easy to see that they are passionate about supporting motherhood in all ways, not just with labour and delivery. I decided to have Emily photograph my birth. My labour was intense right from the beginning and it was a little hectic trying to set everything up at home but when Emily came she brought her uplifting spirit and calmness to the room. She was a total fly on the wall, never getting in the way of anybody else. And she had no troubles getting the whole birthing process photographed beautifully. She has amazing talent. I am so thankful I had Emily there! They also provided placental encapsulation and had the pills ready within two days. They helped with my hormone fluctuations (3rd baby), bleeding was kept to a minimum and gave me energy to take care of my other children postpartum!
