I've been a client of CMHA since 2015 in both Ottawa and the Prescott Russell township. I absolutely love this organization I've received so much help and learned so many skills and tools to help manage my anxiety and depression... Impulsive thoughts and racing memories from my PTSD ect.

It's actually kinda comical CMHA has helped me get through the criminal court system 3 times now because of overzealous police officers that laid silly charges on me when the incidents were purely a civil matter, but I digress.

These people do amazing work and they definitely need more staff and more funding as time goes on and mental health takes more of a priority and given more resources.. I can't say enough about my experiences with CMHA. please if your struggling with addiction or mental health issues or both (concurrent disorders) please reach out to CMHA get your intake started now because there's a wait list to get a worker. You'll never regret the decision to reach out and get the help or resources needed to make life manageable again!

Much love to the citizens of Ottawa!

CMHA has had a huge impact on my life. They contacted me when I was at my lowest point and helped get me to where I am today. The staff is amazing and they really put their clients at the forefront of their recovery. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this organization and am very grateful!

One 5-star review was obviously not from someone who has been a client; they just list the supposed things CMHA Ottawa offers. The worker I had did very, very little for me. Two emails to their supervisor garnered no response.
Asked the worker to attend a doctor's appointment with me where the doctor was rude, insulting and obnoxious. The worker said nothing.
CMHA Ottawa continues to go downhill. They offer very few groups while Middlesex CMHA had 50 separate groups.
They don't participate in the national fundraiser or have a major fundraiser of their own. They aren't doing anything to improve the situation for those with mental health issues in Ottawa. The director of CMHA Ottawa has been there too long. It's time to retire and let someone who cares take over (Hopefully from outside CMHA Ottawa or nothing is likely to change).
The staff in charge of communications at CMHA Ottawa don't keep the website up-to-date, even when it's mentioned the website has misinformation.
There are a few great people working there but I had little interaction with them. Failure to accommodate was another issue I had with them.
Sadly, CMHA National doesn't seem to care about all of this.

They don't know a thing about support. Government need to put there money else were.

They were good at one point . Their quality has decreased drastically over the years. Professional skills.... not sure how professional it is to intentionally not respond to a person.
They teach not to judge. The say reach out when in need. What they teach and what they do don't match.
Really best recommendation is if you go with them.... pray you get a person who's not in it for the money and is in it to make a true difference . They do have a few .

This organization has helped me grow and flourish, and create a life worth living. It has been a crucial part of my wellness recovery and I only hope others can experience this too with this amazing, caring and invaluable organization.

Wonderful orgenization! They offer services like case management (one on work social worker), concurrent disorders services (mental health and addictions services), dual-diagnoses services (mental health and developmental disabilities services), housing services, hospital outreach services, court outreach services, public education, training, and peer support.

The agency consists of over 160 employees and 60+ volunteers. For information of how to receive their services, just call and ask to speak to an intake worker.

Given that I have now first hand seen the ability to lie to someone's face by the senior program director's brother, I do not find it a stretch in the least to believe what people are saying about this organization. I would steer well clear of anyone with the last name Bridger who claims to want to help you. If you can get the knife out of your back, run for your life!!! Making outlandish claims like they conspired to invent the ampersand, they are not to be trusted with your mental health or well being of any kind. I kind of get the feeling that behind the building is the Elsinore Brewery for some reason...
