I am giving a one star review because of the Head Office and Management team at BMM. It has taken us 2 years to write this review, but I don't want other families to experience what we did. Both my parents resided at BMM starting in 2014, but after my Mom needed more care we moved her to another home. Dad remained there without incident until the fall of 2021. My Mom passed away on Sept. 18th and within a week we could see a change in our Dad. The family stepped in and started helping, we were helping the nurses get him down to the dining room, helping feed him, and if he didn't want to be in dining room, we would bring up a tray to feed him. We reached out to LHIND and knew he would have to move to a nursing home, but as we all know it takes time to get the "paperwork done" and he was listed as "critical" to get him moved. We continued to step up and help until Oct. 26, when we had to move Dad to Campbell House Hospice (amazing facility). We knew Dad would not be returning to BMM so family went and cleaned out his room on Oct. 30th, before the end of the month and turned the key over to management. Dad passed away on Sunday Oct. 31st at the age of 100. We lost both our parents within 43 days of each other, so no one in the family was thinking about a "contract" we signed in Oct. 2014 that showed we must give 30 days notice to vacate, or we owe that months rent. Family were at BMM everyday, management and nurses saw us coming and going, and no one said a word to us about the "contract". My Dads funeral was Friday Nov. 5th. Over the weekend my brother was checking his emails and there was one from BMM indicating we didn't give proper notice and therefore owed the amount for November 2021. My brother then received a registered letter on Nov.10 2021, letting us know that it may have been an oversight on our part but if they didn't received monies owed by Nov. 12 2021, further action would be taken. Heartless!!! I reached out to Karen at BMM and she indicated they weren't a nursing home and our Dad was getting top notch care, at which point I stopped her and said I disagreed. She was not willing to do anything so I asked for a name at Head Office, she indicated due to "privacy issues" she couldn't give me a phone number, only a name and that she would let them know to call me. This was suppose to be a Jen Sylvestri. (never did get a call from this person). I decided to start digging deeper into Oxford Living, I was going to get to the top, and I did. I found a phone number for John W. Rutlege CEO out of Chicago ILL. I called and actually got through to his personal line and left a message on Nov.18th at 1:30pm. I received a phone call back on Nov. 18th at 3:15pm from a Lawrence (Larry) Cummings. He was willing to help and after explaining our situation in detail, he asked that I leave it with him and he would look into this matter. Nov. 20,2021 I received a call from Greg Fortier in the Burlington Ontario Head Office, he asked that we be patient and he had taken over the file and was going to revise the Nov. 2021 bill. He apologized for the treatment and assured me nothing would be sent to collections agency. That was the last time we heard from them until we tried to obtain the year end statement to complete my Dads income tax filing. I made a call to Greg Fortier on Mar. 22 and he said our account was still outstanding, I told him we never heard from you again, and he said a email was sent, when I asked for a copy of that email he could not provide one and said he would send one now. So they were holding our statement because of their error. Absolutely disgusting to put a family through this, I'm hoping no other family has to go through this kind of ordeal.

Mom has enjoyed her stay at Blue Mountain Manor. She moved in here just before covid hit so it has been the amazing staff that has made her feel safe and comfortable. They do a great job looking after residents even during these trying times. THANK U BMM!!
